all the guys i talked to here in mn. say no way to the tz its way to hard to control on the track and doesnt keep a great tune, they all say the .12 cvr im going to keep the .15 in mine til i blow it up this summer because it has more than enough power for me right now and i havent even taken out the restrictor yet

Hello Guys

I just got an HPI mt2 .18ss.
I am new to the nitro mt2 and to this forum, but I have been racing 1/10 scale on and off road for years.
In my area mid-west GA. nitro 1/10 scale 2wd stadium trucks are vanishing. I have a 2wd Losi XXX-NT and
if I want to race I have to race against the 4wd monster trucks. the losi does pretty good usually finishing in the top three
if the track is well watered, but most of the time it's not. I do not like the big and clumsy monster trucks or the
the 1/8 scale truggies/buggies. So that leaves me with the 4wd 1/10 scale hpi mt2.
My mt2 will be strickly for racing. I will toss the hpi .18ss engine for a os .15cv-r non p/s w/slide carb and threaded
crank. I think anything bigger would be hard to handle on a track. Other hop-ups are;
gpm 3mm main chassis (heard bad things about gpm,but it's hard to screw-up a 3mm chassis I think?)
hpi non p/s engine mounts and flywheel (a920 & a926) will use a starter box
hpi diff springs, but will try sealing the diffs and fill with 3k and 1k silicone diff fluid
lunsford titanium turnbuckles, hpi aluminum shocks
I am still putting it together. So if any of racers out there have any tips or sit-up adivce it would be
GREATY APPRECIATED!

Well you see guys. It is like around -10 outside everyday, and im thinking setting the needles to factory 3 turns out from closed is gonna be either too rich or too lean. And what is the factory settin for the low end needle? cause 3 tourns out from closed is way to much. And, how do you tune top end needle first if the bottom end needle makes your truck bog off the start? figure that one out :P

Welcome to the forum
You most all ready have or know someone that has an OS 15 CV-R as it has been discontinued ever since they came out with the 18 CV-R which is a couple of years now. I am guessing you have checked out the track rules where you plain on racing as many track do not have a 4 wheel drive stadium truck class. If it was like our track we normally had 3 classes do to lack of racers. 1/10 scales anything, 1/8 buggy and truggy and 1/8 monster truck. Where are you racing? I do believe when I had the OS 15 CV-RX in my MT my Savage would have out run it on the track. Now my Savage is not stock but is running the stock engine. I do no know my Savage has no problem keeping up and beating the Revo. One thing you defiantly need to get for your MT is a set of aluminum knuckles!

Is it the RTR or the SS if it is the RTR to change the gearing you have to get engines mounts unless you all ready have them. As far as the bearings you need 5x10mm. If it where up to me I would go with the Race CB, as it is vented and harder then the heavy duty yes those CB will work.

Hey guys I'm getting ready to order a HPI MT2 18SS kit off tower and I was wondoring what things I will need with it. I already have CA, air filter oil, diff grease, e-clips, and im getting a bottle of 60 weight oil to use in the shocks instead of what ever comes with it. What else should i get? O and i already have all the radio gear.

Also do you know if this will fit it? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFKM8&P=9 I want speed [>:]

Thanks in advance!
