the g3.0 is a .18
it is the newer version of the .18ss

Hey guys,

IM looking at a HPI RS4 MT 3.0 and I was wondering something. I like to OVER power things and I was wondering whats the biggest engine that will fit in this truck? I have heard of converting to a 2 speed setup? How do you do that? I dont have time to dig through 660+ pages of this thread LOL

well the largest i,ve seen on the mt is a .28 motor but i,m not sure what mods was needed and the two speed is only good for on road not recommended for off road,i got the two speed in my truck with the os 18 and i,m not sure if it makes any diffeence in speed havent really had a chance to play around with the two speed set up

Yeah I figured the 2 speed thing was a on road only thing! I have a GST 7.7 for my main hardcore offroad bashing but I want something that I can make FAST like 50+mph but I wanna have 4wd while doing it. What engines are direct bolt in? I remember have one of the first tmaxx's and I added the .21 conversion way back when and tearing out all the driveline constantly. I wanna know which parts fail constantly and if they have heavy duty upgraded parts.

Erm, if the diffs hold up, then do this:

New era big block conversion http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi...fr&part_id=710
And some huge engine, like a Novarossi 528 modded by AB Mods, that should do for power, oh and a buku pipe.

MORE SPEED

anyone have a spare cone washer for the mt2 part #Z845 you would sell me? I need it for a clutch bell and don't want to spend $10 for a few washers.

the 18ss has the ungraded parts that will break in the g3.0 and the 18ss engine has more power

i would like to know what part of the .18ss has more power than the g3.0..
torque?? hp??
i know the g3.0 has more hp but comparable torque. this from a site that did dyno testing on several buggies.
i would link the results but lost the link to a hd crash.

yes the 18ss pipe is tuned.
not happy with the fuel return "hole" that you shove the tubing into, instead of a fitting for it.. but it is tuned.
