now with the spektrums do they use crystals? i read that they dont, i was wondering if i got one could i use it for both of my cars? or would i need to get something special for it to work on both?
Nope no crystals. Its 2.4ghz. You bind the transmitter to the receiver. You can bind the same transmitter to as many receivers as you want. The transmitter has a 10 model memory. The futaba 2.4gz works the same way, just a bit more expensive. Im using the spektrums and I've had no problems so far.
ok so i talked to my lhs today and they said that i can get the spektrum dx2 system for $145. if that a good deal? thats for the transmitter, reciever, and 2 servoes.

I just ordered this set from tower last night do you see anything else that I'll need to make the slipper work?

eminentguitar: nice vids but that sucks about your car getting trashed. I wouldn't say it a total loss though with a bit of work I'd say you'll get her going again. if you need a new chassis I have a brand new one here I'd give you a deal on, I think I even have some extra suspension arms and I know I have some extra turnbuckles but they are the stock plastic ones. From the look of that video I probably have most of what you need to fix it. but I don't know what shipping would cost out there to SK
lol that video was after I totalled my car and fixed it up I paid 9.50 for a brand new chassis with shipping But thanks for the parts offer man I appreciate it.

Welcome aboard usmc. How old is your current engine?
If you are looking for more speed Id suggest either and O.S. engine or the LRP Z.18s. With either engine you are going to have to upgrade and shim your diffs because the extra power of those engines will destroy the stock diffs.

i have made a list for upgrading mine, mine is the mt2 3.0 and im buying a spektrum radio this week for it then the next upgrade that im doing is the tires. if you have a lot of power and crappy tires then your missing out on the performance that you could be getting. then from there im going with the handling of the truck before i even think about replacing the motor.

My current engine is almost brand new. It only has about 8 tanks run through it including the break in. I had my LHS put it in when the old one died. I have another roller MT that if i upgrade the engine in my MT2 i am going to put the old MT2 engine in. I dont really need to upgrade the engine first but i just dont know what i should do first. How do i shim my diffs? Can i just buy new ones? Sorry for the stupid questions i just dont want to mess up my new truck.

Never be afraid to ask questions. Thats how we all learn from each other.
Check out this link to see how to shim the diffs properly. http://www.kedar.itgo.com/tipz.html
You should invest in the upgraded final drive gears too.

Thats what happened with mine too. The spider gear lost a few teeth. Unfortunately there aren't any stronger spider gears.

If you want taller go with a set of proline moabs. they are about an inch taller than stock, they also fit the 2.2 wheels.

ok guys, i'm having some trouble (again) and need some input. my mt (with the MASSIVE t-15) was running great. tuned and screaming. the next day i had some trouble starting it, and with the ohio weather had to re-tune it. after about 1-1 1/2 tanks of fuel it would not restart. after messin' with it for about 30 minutes i gave up. better to put it away for the day than loss my cool, right? the next day i tried for about 45 minutes, and could not get it to start. next day it would start, but would not stay running for very long. glow plug is good, ignitor is charged,1 way bearing is good, not flooded, new batteries in truck and controller. i even put the carb adjustments back to factory starting points and started over, still it will not run for more than a few minutes. is the t-15 that bad of an engine? i just got this thing, as you know i'm new to nitro, and i want to swap in a better engine, but i want to "learn" and practice on the stock eng. right now i don't want/need more speed, i need practice tuning and driving nitro before that. are there any tricks you guys can pass on here? help?!?!?
