Default Starter box question

I just got a OFNA 1/10 universal box. The guy at the shop failed to mention it does not come with the 12v battery needed. It does not have leads to hook up to a car battery. Would it work If I put gater clips on the wires that were to go to the battery and ran them to a car battery? Its 12v right?
Thanks for any ideas. I could order the correct battery But I dont have the money for that right now.

the 12v car bat will be fine just make sure your wires are thick enough to support a 12v circuit.
Alot of guys at my track do that . The go and open there hoods and start there buggy's all day from there car. lol u get alot of power out of it when you use that batter.
What box do you got

It would be fine. I do it all the time with my charger i use for my boat, and the wires hold a 12 volt circuit. So i dont see why you couldnt do it with a starter box.
