Hitec servos are popular, that's for sure. From what I know (again, about their higher-end air lineups), Futaba quality is best, then JR, then Hitec. Hitecs will give you the best power, speed, and features for the money, but aren't as precise or durable as JRs and Futabas.

LOL futaba was best maybe 10 years ago.. 15.. maybe.. but I think they are all nice.. and equal quality. Some may offer more bang for the buck, but.. I have seen that really large hitec servo that has the heatsink thats bomb proof lol.. I even have a cheap bluebird servo in my mini t, its metal geared I have yet to strip it.

I have done the same w/ my JRs, lots of times lol.

I had some Futabas for my ODST and it would get glitchy when i went through water, never fried them but it was scarry. lol

As they should. I never said they were bad, only that JR and Futaba are better. That's from a reliability and precision standpoint, since those are so critical in air vehicles. It's not always a must on land where rocks and friction will make it harder to notice differences in precision and where loosing a servo doesn't cause you to wreck everything part of your model. But Futaba is still the best.

BTW, any servo will become glitchy if water gets inside it. One company isn't better than another in keeping water out - you're usually fine with any water and dust sealed type from any company.

I like Hitec, they are cheap, reliable, and work great.

No genesis. So what radio would you say is the best in your opinion. Also what engine would you suggest me getting for $175.00 at the MOST.

Also for the kit, I have to paint the body right? And lastly Do I need a battery box and a tuned pipe or does it come with those?

with a kit everything but the engine and electronics should come with it. yea you will need to paint a body(just get 2 rattle spray cans and go nuts)

it should come with a tuned pipe and manifold, if it doesnt then you got ripped off.[:-]

I swear why dont some people pic out some motors they like and research them. I dont think I would just take the advise of one stranger. I would read.. use the seach button.

Someone could have said.. nawww mach .15 there you go.. the RTR comes w/ it its the bomb and you could have believed it. Or someone could have had you blow 200 bucks on a nice turbo Nova and you could have blew the motor in 1 gallon not knowing how to tune it. There is nothing wrong w/ asking for advise but dang read about it before you make up your mind.
