No, the one you posted will not work. You'd be better off with a roto-start. I put one on my X-cellerator and love it. The gears haven't broke and as long as you can properly charge batteries its not an issue. As far as hard to take off, I guess if you call unscrewing 4 screws hard then you better stick with a pull start. The guys that say their heavy crack me up!!

I've got an Evader and haven't ever seen one for it.

This is what you want; I have a roto-start but these are much higher quality:

http://www.sullivanproducts.com/Star...sMainFrame.htm

And they have a cross-reference for engines not listed here that covers almost ALL car/truck engines... Plus, you can start it with the body on....

Oh yeah, you can buy this adapter and easily start it from the flywheel, like starter box does.... It's prob. cheaper too...

I forgot about that.

From the website: "Fits the OS DTX 18 engine for the T-Maxx" Isn't this a mistake? The DTX .18 is what comes in the Evader and I've never heard of a similiar engine for the T-Maxx.

RG501, you should call Sullivan (410) 732-3500 tomorrow and find out.

Dig a little deeper, look at the cross-reference page that is linked by that small list of engines... You don't need to call it's right there..

Yeah but that thing is a mounted motor and more.... These backplates are nice and light and less maintenence....

Think about just the hand starter and the rubber donut, it'll work just as well and is nearly guaranteed to be cheaper...

but i think i would buy the tiger drive that is what is pictured above made by sullivan or racers edge power starter for OS motor they are easy to use all you need is a cordless drill, the starter wheel type are a pain unless you have a jig setup plus you need a good 12 volt battery to run one, kinda awkword unless you are used to them

I had the Racers Edge powerstarter on one of my OS .12's, and after the 4th plastic gear stripped out on it, I gave up on it........just my two bits.

1. You don't need any type of "jig"
2. They make a 12V battery that straps to the starter
3. After 2 starts you will be VERY quick and profecient.

I use lots of different methods for all of my engines, this really is the easiest, 1 bump (1 second or less) and it's running.
