Default How to?

One newbie question: How do I stop my engine other than running out of fuel? It's bad for the engine to plug the exhaust, I can't reach the fuel lin when the body is on and my spur gear is protected, so I can't reach it.[&:][:@]

What should I do???

plug the exhaust is what i do... you can also hold the truck upright and touch the flywheel with the heel of your shoe.

yes, on the bottom of the chassis, there will be an opening where the flywheel is accesable. the flywheel is the thing behind the clutch bell and if you put pressure on it while its running, it will stop the motor. the easiest thing to do is just plug the exhaust. it won't hurt anything. in fact dubro makes a kwik-stop plug for it. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFRP4&P=7 works really well.

You're right it doesn't hurt it... what it CAN do (and will, to varying degrees depending on how airtight everything is) is flood the engine. It won't flood it to the point (usually) that it is hard to re-start, but you don't wanna do this if it's your last run of the day.

At the end of the day remove the fuel line from the engine and after it cools, start it up with no line. This will run all that you can out of the engine. Add some after-run oil and you're on your way.

I think I'll just pinch off the flywheel.
