Default RC10GT or Nitro Evader

Well i was wondering which stadium truck would be better for someone who will not be racing. I wont the truck to be pretty stong because it will be doing small jumps but nothing over the top. I want it to go fast and have balls (torque). um, i wanna run mahsers and ill be using my futuba 2pl radio(the one with the lcd screen). i proly will buy the cars off tower hobbies so the warranty on the evader wont do much for me. everyone says the rc10gt is soo good but i dont know why it is better than the evader. to me both the car seem VERY simular so iw as womdering which one to get. and dont tell me rc10gt just coz u got one. i want honest oppinions. and something else lots of people saying that if they kniew what their evader was going to be like when they bought it, they would of got a rc10gt.
Can some one plz tell me what are the pros/cons of the rc10gt / nitro evader.

and i was learning towards the nitro evader anyways and this is what i was thinking of getting:
Nitro Evader
Mashers
Ofna Micro Fail Safe
Tower Hobbies Glow Starter
Glow plugs
RPM rims
High Torque Metal Geared servo
Exhaust Deverter
Delux Car wrench
Hobbico After Run Oil

Well will all those things work on both cars and what else is needed and what is not needed?

Thanks for all the help !

Well i'll help anyway, with the Hopups:

Evader:

Mashers, don't just get tyres cause they look cool, get ones to suit the surface you run on, so what do you run on.

The duratrax Micro Failsafe is a few $$ cheaper and works good, plus it matches the car.

Don't bother getting the towerhobbies glow starter, it's just a crap twist "n" lock. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJ803&P=ML this one is good, and is available with ot without charger, and with or without metercap.

Glow Plugs, you want to choose the right one for your vehicle, O.S. #8 is a good plug, also O.S. A3 and Tower Hobbies are good HOT glow plugs. If you run high nitro then you will need cold plugs.

Rims, if you like, and can afford it!

High torque MG servo, well if the stocker isn't good enough or breaks, go for it, remember a high power servo makes the car more twitchy to drive.

Exhaust deflector....These help keep the car clean, but some say they reduce power output.

Car wrench is a good idea, but isn't it included with the RTR kit?

After run oil, I reccomend it!

But you didn't list FILTER OIL, this is very important also, get some of that too!

I use after run engine oil to use on my filter. Seems to be just as sticky if not stickier than the regular filter oil.
And why are twisn n lock starters junk? I was at my lhs yesterday picking out a rechargable one.. it was between this twist n lock and one like what you put a link for that was spring loaded or whatever. Both had the meter to tell you if your battery and glow plug were good. The guy at the store told me the twist n lock one was a higher quality plug starter! Dang i hate it when i get bad info.

This is the exact one they sold me.. should i return it for a diff one?:

I don't think he was saying twist n' locks are bad, but rather the towerhobbies one is bad.
The high torque MG servo will be a good upgrade from the stock steering servo. You wouldn't need it for throttle though.
About the after run oil in your air filter... I would not reccomend this. I don't think the after run oil is as tacky as the air filter oil, it won't trap fine particles as well. Also after run oil has chemicals in it that are meant to prevent oxidation, these chemicals might eventually break down the foam filter. You would be better off buying some air filter oil.

Go with the Evader because as an evader owner I find it to be a very good truck to bash and it has a good enough speed as long as you aint racing any really fast cars. Heres a few pics of my evader but this one isnt stock, it has aluminum shock towers and tons of other aluminum parts. Thats the good part about the evader, tons of hop-ups. Also the evader has a stress tech warranty on many of the parts.

i Say the Evader...I am a evader owner but i have had problems with the diff. But as you might have seen in the post called what is wrong here i am a little hard on the throttle...I have not broken hardly any pieces and i bash pretty hard...i go on-road and off-road this car is pretty fast too...i say go with the evader...you have to keep in mind tho the rear rims on the evader have bearings built in the the axle...so therefore you need either losi rims for the rear or duratrax ones...thats what i have thought over the year that i have had it...if someone can tell me otherwise or that other rims work tell me please...

I just think that lock on ones are better and last longer than the twist n locks....do what you please.

A worn twist n lock will pop off and just aggravate you...

Main complaint about the stock one is that u go through C's quick with it. Tho your using rechargables.. so i guess thats ok. The only other real drawback is it doesnt have a meter. The one i just got has a meter on the top that shows A) Battery life and B) Plug life. If the meter is low on the green level and you know your battery is in good shape, then that means your plug is starting to die. Comes in handy. I have no probs with my new twist n lock. Unlike the stock one.. the bottom springed part starts higher up.. so even if for some reason it didnt lock right, it still heats the glow plug just by letting it rest on it. Either way my engine is startin.

If you're using rechargeables already, the stocker will probably be fine. Don't bother upgrading until you're looking for something to spend money on at the hobby store Keep it charged and you'll be fine.

I have the HPI glow ignitor with the meter. It works really well, and looks good too (purple aluminum), but i don't get a lot of use from the meter.

Not really. A different one may perform better, but probably not by a lot.

I'm on the verge of buying a new starter. I've been using the same one for 4 years, lol. I have a Dynamite red anodized rechargeable one with a meter. It has been good but has began to pop off a little bit lately, and the red doesn't match anything on my truck, lol. It has been good though. Four years on the same ignitor is pretty good IMO.

Just get whatever truck ya want. Both are great, and I have only heard a bunch of Evader problems from newbies, and those problems have nothing to do with the Evader, but more with nitro in general. I guarantee they would have had very similar problems with the GT if they would have got it first. It's just how nitro is.

I've been into nitro for 4 years (if you made the connection, that means I've had the same ignitor since I started the hobby) and had the N-Evader for 2 months now. I have only broken one knuckle, but I had fun doing it and its a $2 part, big deal. I have jumped the crap out of it (see my video a bit further down in this thread) and it keeps coming back. It is very reliable, and ready to go at a moments notice. DTX has SERIOUSLY increased the quality of their vehicles with the Evader series.

Just get whatever floats your boat. Both have proven to be quality and durable (considering how lightweight they are). Both are easy to get parts for (although the GT has a much stronger aftermarket), and you will have fun with both.

Oh, and if it helps, I chose the N-Evader over a GT Plus RTR. No regrets here.

OS A5 or A3 depending on weather.
hot weather, use an A5, cold/moderately warm run an A3.
