You need two hands for a roto start. One for the drill and the other for the radio. Maybe your just not skiled enough.
not skilled enough kitty cat man? ha! ok so what do you do if 1.) you dont have a glow plug igniter that autimaticlly stays in. and 2.) the engine wont start up and you need to choke it? sounds like a 3 hand job to me!

Let me give you a little advice from a master...
1.) prime the engine
2.) turn on radio
3.) put ignitor on glowplug
4.) hold glowplug ignitor with throttle hand
5.) yank starter(or push button) while giving the truck throttle

And for future reference, choking the engine is different then priming. Choking is when you limit the air supply so the engine runs richer during start-up. Priming is when you get fuel to the carb.

Why do you need to hold on to your glow ignitor, dont it just clamp on it? I prime/choke whatever with my radio hand since it only requires a finger.

And just wondering but how exactly would you "prime" the carb?

Some glow plugs only except certain types of ignitors, if the plug doesn't fit the ignitor properly, you have to hold it on. Also that is how I keep my car on the ground when I yank the starter.

I prime my engine a couple different ways, I usually blow into the pressure line, although make sure to be careful when you do this as it can build up pressure and send fuel into your mouth if your tank is full enough. Or I cover the exhaust while turning over the engine.
There are a few more ways that I have heard of, but I consider these the easiest and fastest.

You have to prime the engine, even if you don't realize you're doing it. That is, unless you leave fuel in the car- otherwise you're going to have to get fuel from the tank to the carb.

Personally I just want to know how you go about choking it...

Priming..

The only way I can think of to choke our engine is to cover the intake, or richen the HSN(even this is not really a choke, just has the same effect). Although This will in no way help start your engine, unless your mixtures are set way too lean for your engine to run.

well priming is what i mean. i am a dirtbike mechanic so i just have always used the term "choking" instead of priming. go figure???

Yea, I figured that you were used to bikes, lawn mowers, mo-peds, or somthing of the sort that oftens uses chokes. But I feel that withought proper terminology being used on the forums, some people will take something the wronge way, and will eventually lead to disaster..
I too dirtbike, and if I didn't I probably wouldn't know what the hell a choke was..
