cooling head keeps coming off!! and the engine gets to hot!!!
HELLP!!! my 2.5's cooling head keeps coming off and the engine keeps geting hot and i dont know what to do can anybody help please!!!

Your cooling head keeps coming off??!? Go out and buy some blue thread-lock, then put a little drop on each screw that goes into the head. Then torque the head down in sequence, and wait for the thread-lock to dry before running it.
Well if your cooling head gets a little loose, you will start to get an air leak. Thus your engine would start to run very lean and overheat.
Hope that solves the problem... Although I have never heard of a cooling head just randomly falling off before..

Or does he mean the little plastic head protector? those tend to come off alot. And then the overheating could be another problem...

I use a combination of double-sided sticky tape and velcro to hold the head on my trx 2.5. I've also heard that you can use static electricity if your in a bind and don't have double sided tape or velcro. Just take the cooling head off and rub it vigorously on top of your head (or if you have a dog or cat available just rub it on their back). Then set it on top of the engine gently without grounding yourself out, then the static charge will hold it on the engine much like you use static to make balloons stick to walls. Another alternative is chewing gum (my perosnal favorite is BigRed)

AHAHAHAH we cut him up now he doesnt even wanna say anything back and if your COOLING HEAD keeps comin off try screwing it on ifu dont have screws buy them from your lhs if cant find the head buy a new cooling head and screws lol and if your only talkin about that little HEAD PROTECTOR on your cooling head just get tie rapps and rapp them around the head and your cooling fin
