Well poop. Took the back of the vader apart to shrink wrap the cv pins and found that both rear hubs are busted and the bearings are shot. This truck is gonna suck me dry[&o]
Anyone know what size the bearings are?

that would be e-Bay newbee's. they don't know that you can get them for less if you wait a little time.
yep thats what he does.

I always compare prices, include shipping and place a max bid under what tower sells the part for. I’m not gonna pay the same price (or more, like I see people doing) for the same thing I can get new with a warranty.

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0
Hey thread,So I just got my shipment ($194.56) of goodies today and Im having 2 issues.First,I asked earlier about the hpi rims I got and i understand what you guys were saying about the adapters.?Which make total sense for the back tires. My question is about the front rims.It doesnt seem right that the cheap plastic adapter sits on the side of the axle with no real purpose.Quite a bit of friction it seems.I heard theres a way to make 'em fit by reaming 5mm out of the middle of the whole.Any truth to this?Ok,my other problem.I bought the stage 2 perf head for the dtx .18 and the glow plug will not tighten down snug at all.It will be threaded in the head but just turns ALL THE TIME.Then when I give it some throttle it just dies after a second.Do I need different size glow plugs for that head?By the way docphysics and bigstang you two have been extremely helpful as I make the change to gas. Thanks a bunch.

when you install the head did you take the shims off the old head and put them on the new head? remember to tighten the head screws in a star pattern. as for the front rim I think you need the bearings out of the old rime to make them work. do you still have the instruction book that came with the car??? if not the link that I posted early should have one for you to buy. never leave home with out it. it's a good read.

Please dont pick on me to bad greywolf but when you say shim(s) do you mean that thin gold piece between the engine and head.I did use the same one but I only saw 1.You say shim(s)...that kind of scares me.And when you say star pattern you mean to criss cross essentially?

Yes on the criss cross, good thinking on that. as for the shims the O.S. engines I've seen only use two and the Traxxas Pro .15 uses three so I don't see why the DTX .18 would not use just one. so did you make sure that all the head screws are tight. yea I know, But gotta ask. I can't think of why it would not work unless it's packaged wrong and it's not the right head. I'm thinking that it might be a button head design and the one's I've gotten in the past did nothing more that just look good. O.K. maybe they cooled the engine a little more. sorry if I'm picking on you. I believe that the Manuel's are over looked way to much. YES even by me.

Ok grey wolf.So I took the head off completely and installed the glow plug with it off.It tightened down with the head off.Im not worried about it.I just installed back with the plug in.Those green tubes you see are fuel line.Just not clear.Isnt hard to see if your primed with those tubes?

I have dark blue tubes and as far as priming it i just pull off the airfilter and watch for a small abount of fuel to squirt in the carb while im squeezing the primer bulb, and then i know im good.
