heres a new fuel tank on e-Bay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/DuraTrax-Nitro-E...QQcmdZViewItem

Bear thats a Traxxas Tec 4 if I'm right. you should be able to find part EZ any place the is still being made. It also looks to have a TRX Pro .15 in it.

Give me a few minutes to find the link you will need.

Hey guys im new to NITRO RC and i'm 13. I've done my break-in about 2 weeks ago. Just today I tried to start in up to go for a spin but i couldnt get it running at all. I turned the high-speed needle all the way in then two turns out. I installed my glowplug igniter and the dang thing started on the second pull. I was wondering wat should i do at this point? Where do you guys all have you're needles at?
And where should mine be?

One more thing. I have 150$ to spend on stuff for my car. WHAT SHOULD I BUY! (i'm looking for some good usefull stuff. not stuff to make it look better)

Go for a good servo like a Hitec HS645MG or the Futaba 3305. Also, you could get an OS .18cv-rx engine once yours dies. The stock engine will go out after about 2 gallons, and the OS will last up to 10!!! Plus it has huge power and more speed!

Also, maybe a 5-cell rechargable reciever pack like the Venom 1200mah pack on towerhobbies.com and a charger like the Duratrax Piranha Digital Peak Charger to charge the reciever and trasmitter batteries!

get the aluminum arms cuz u will break those like crazy then the os cvr and better stearing servo like stated above and get a GOOD glow ignighter. r using the stock one they gave u??? if u r then that might be your problem, the reg battery dies very quickly in that.

sometimes you will have to tune your car every time out if the weather changes a lot. cloudy one warm and sunny the next. this changes the way they start every time.

Yes, you can clean the filter elements with soap and water and then re-oil them.

When you spin the tires does the spur gear move? Usually when the wheels spin all the gears will move and that will add some resistance.

if it drives fine I would leave it. Just sounds like the diff is well lubed and the meshes are set well, and there is no binding up of the gears. Have fun in the snow!

I went out today and think I figured out my radio problem. At least part of it. I put my multi meter on the lead from the battery pack and it read 6 volts. I then check it downstream from the switch and at first got nothing. I unhooked all the leads and hooked them back and got right at 6 volts again. I think I must have a bad connection somewhere. I'll probably just get a new switch to play it safe. The run away probably came from failsafe points not setup right. Will check that later. It's too cold outside for me to be messing with it today. What do ya'll think about hardwiring the switch to the battery pack, I think that is where my weak point is. The connectors don't fit as well as I think they should.

you can do that but, as soon as you connect the batteries it is drawing power, so if you ever forget to to disconnect the batts after a run, then the batts will go dead. I would just a get a new switch. I have never had one go bad.

It appears the switch is bad. With both the tx and rx turned on I can tap the side of the switch and the rx loses power. Either it was bad from the start or I could have pinched a wire when I installed it. Either way a switch is only a couple of bucks so it's worth a shot.

yep, with a new switch it should run like a champ! Also, some times the solder points are weak, and too much tension on a wire can pop it off.
