Default engine problems

I've got a pirate-10 that is having engine trouble all over hells creation. Mainly, its just 2 problems:

#1: I can't get it to idle. It has an OS max CZ-12Z engine in it if that helps. When I bought the car, I didn't get any papers or info on it, so does anyone know what the idle adjustments and top end jet should be at?

#2: Also, this is the biggie, I can't give it any throttle. Once its warmed up, it slowly gets worse and worse. I just got it out today and gave it a good cleaning before I started it up. It fired up great at first, but after about a dozen restarts and 5 minutes later it wouldn't take any throttle. I am just bearly able to keep it running at all. Is there an adjustment that I'm missing somewhere??

Any help at all would be appreciated-
Fritz

Default RE: engine problems

the CZ series are OLD engines. If the compression isn't high enough you might be getting flame-outs when you try and give it gas. Look up the paper work for the CZ engine on OS's website and get the factory setting from there. If you know how to tune an engine you are in good shape. Check for all the usuall problems with engines (pressure line leaks, tank leaks, fuel line leaks, bad seals in the engine/carb, glow plug......).

Default RE: engine problems

Well, I looked up the sheet for it on the OS website and they didn't have it. I also googled it and came up with nothing. I just recently went back to take a look at it, and there was loads of engine oil running out the bottom of the truck. As it turns out, the bottom half of the exhaust gasket blew out. I don't supposed its just a generic gasket by chance? Might this be the problem??

edit: (However it does idle now!!)

Default RE: engine problems

Rebuild it with the O.S. piston/ sleeve. The Duratrax ABC piston/ sleeve doesn't work quite right in the older .12's. I got bad results when rebuilding my O.S. .12 CZ-R with the Duratrax parts.
