I haven't run very many different pipes. The stock associated, and a Dynamite 2 chamber short pipe. The dynamite is what I have continued running. It is a high rpm pipe, and it works well for me.

It isn't worth dumping a wad of cash into a piece of aluminum pipe. I tried three different pipe designs on an O.S. .12 CV (Evader). Going from a plastic exhaust to metal is an improvement, but on 'standard' engines, the performence changes between different "tuned" pipes are very subtle. Get the cheapest AE pipe you can find on Tower.

I disagree. On a stock Traxxas Jato, we clocked it at 51 mph, with a radar gun, 12 passes. We put on our new pipe, (our meaning I work at CVEC) at we got 56 mph on the gun, and did it in 10 feet less room than the stock pipe, hitting 51. And all we did was mount our pipe.
If you can find the right "Tuned" pipe for the engine / truck, it's worth all the money, if you're looking for speed and or acceleration.

I would agree. As my father always told me - an engine is nothing more than a fancy air pump - the more efficient you do that the better they run. This really is more for 4 stroke, but holds true in 2 stroke. A good pipe should give you enough backpressure to push the fuel, but also allow the cylinder to scavenge properly. I use as THS Exaust seems to work well.

Alrighty...
Asuming he uses his OFF-ROAD truck in off road conditions, the small gain in max speed will not likely be noticed...unless he is driving it down a sand flat. I doubt he is trying to break personal records, and just wants a replacement.
