CV is the series and the R is for Racing edition, if it has a X on the end that means its pullstart.
so CV is the bumpstart standard engine, CV-RX is Cv series racing pullstart , CV-RX (s) is CV series Racing edition pullstart (short crankshaft)

I voted for the HPI MT2 but if you want the best basher you can get it is best to start with a kit not a RTR as you will end up with a much better vehicle! All so if you bash like I do throw the areas I bash in you cannot beat 4-wheel drive. This is one of the many things the HPI MT2 has over most other ST. If you want the best start out with the HPI MT2 .18SS sell the engine on ebay and get and OS engine. I have a Savage and HPI MT and a MT will run circles around a Savage as far as handling goes hands down. Do not get me wrong as I like them both but in different ways. The Savage is better for jumping but the MT is better for running fast and making quick turns and so on.

the MT2 is too much for me. ill be paying $325 for a rustler w/xtra glow plugs, filter oil, batteries and fuel bottle. w/mt2 that would be a bout $360. i aint paying that much for a stadium truck. itd take me too long to save up that much.

So best is not in the equation like you stated? I am sure what ever you get you will have fun. Good Luck.

savage is junk IMO. I had one and broke things just driving the POS in a circle. i took it off a 2 ft jump and broke both motor mounts and the motor went flying. Sure, go ahead and bash the savage if you want a truck that will break and fall apart[:@]

the savage is one of the more popular trucks on the market...did you land on the front or rear? otherwise i cant explain your problems. maybe you didnt check any of the screws before you ran it? thats a big problem maker.

My vote for best basher ST went to the RS4. 4WD makes a huge difference when bashing. I don't own one, nor am I even thinking about buying one, as I mainly run on a groomed track surface. But for go-everywhere/anywhere bashing with a 1/10 stadium truck....

I know it may be a popular truck, thats why i got it because i figured it was a good truck. When i got it i pretty much took it all apart and threadlocked everything and it still broke. At my LHS the owner took his off the roof. Who knows maybe mine was a dud. But, Opinions are like A**holes, everyone has got one.

im a proud jato owner...it is a bit pricey...but for me, the 350 i paid wasn't bad, compared to the prices of other rc's ive seen. It holds it's own, but your always gonna break when your bashing. Good forum thread.

the evader stock motor is perfectly fine. its quite good actually. lots of torque and descent speed. i said the mt2 rtr but i think the 18ss is what really has my vote. between the leaders i would say the nrustler because it is stronger and faster (STOCK), but its turning radius sucks. that and the fact that its higher and tumbles a bit too easily defiately exclude it form being a racer (stock, ive seen "racing" nitro rustlers, but they had a lot of money in them).
