Okay so this may be a repeat question but seeing that search has failed to give me the answer im really looking for I will just ask.
So im looking into getting a stadium truck to trash around the yard, lose gravel and light dirt. I have always like the little rc10gt for its simplistic design and huge after market hop up support. However new bigger bad boys are showing up and the rc10gt just seems to be at the bottom of the line up for excellaration and power. So this brings my question what would one need to add to a rc10 to run with or above the jato. Again I want to note im not racing my truck its for bashing only. I really like the rc10 and I can get one with extras for 260 shipped from tower where the jato is about 100 bucks more. I also like how tuff that little truck is.. It takes one hell of a beating and keeps on rolling, I just want it to be able to keep up with my mates jato and revo.
Anyways, what would I need to add to the rc10 to keep up with those kinds of trucks. Im just wondering if it is cost efficient or not. I would love to see the rc10 running or dare I say out running a jato but fear she is just out of her prime. Please enlighten me. Would it be cost efficient to reach my goals or just get a jato?

I wouldn't think that the RC10 is outdated.. I see a lot of wins coming each week to the RC10 at the local track.
I haven't ran a Jato, I would like a Jato, but I would think that for backyard bashing, with a few upgrades your RC10 will be able to run with a Jato if you would learn to drive the truck. Instead of hanging on and hoping for the best, start learning about tuning your suspension and how the truck is going to act in given situations. I don't think in my opinion that horsepower wins every race, I think it goes to the person that drives the best.
(oh yeah, I'd upgrade the engine to one of the OS's)
- - if the above advice fails to help you, steal your "mates" tires off of their trucks and there is no way you can lose

Only becomes outdated when no parts are available for them no more (manufacturers stop making them!) RC10 GT is still probably one of the easiest nitro trucks to hop-up in finding parts wise :-)
Btw, i dont own an RC10 GT & ive never liked them! (not slating them!) just my personal pref, but i do know they are a good/reliable truck :-)
This is the main factor of win or lose, which alot of people seem to forget when it comes to getting the "fastest" there is ^^

thanks for the ideas.. again I want to stress I wont be raceing my rc10gt at all just haveing fun with it in the backyard etc.. (oh also lol mates = friends) sorry I re read what I wrote and it looks like it could come off the wrong way. I have a savage 25 I got about a year ago so im not completely new to nitro tuneing. I just dont want to be left in the dust when my buddy with his jato and I head down the long straights I have in the backyard.
I did think about getting a menace 21 (but dont konw how practical it would be for my needs. But I know that jato wont keep up with that little puppy. tehhehehe.

what are you smoking???
use your head and think, 'fast' refers to speed, 'quick' refers to time, and you need to be the quickest (that is the least time around the track) rather than the one that can get his truck going 70mph down the straight

for bashing, gimme the RC10GT over any other stadium truck. i've owned and bashed with pretty much all of them, and the GT is the king of bashing.
although my XXXNT is far better on the track, you'll never realize how much better it is until the RC10GT makes you a good enough driver.

i wouldnt say the RC10GT is out dated, i would say its got a lotta older tech behind it, but it still works. im not sure but i dont think you will be able to make it keep up with a jato for cheap.

Man I have had my rc10gt for about 2 years now and I Love it.It is the best basher I have ever owned.Once I replaced the junk plastic gears with the metal ones i havn't been able to break it.Thos o.s .12's arn't no joke either,I have two of them when one needs work i slap the other on there. Its a great truck with the only limit on upgrades being how much money you have.

i have the nitro evader st and i think it looks a lot like the gt only with a more cluttered chassis. (kinda funny considering it isnt cluttered at all)
