I have a RC10GT with the os 12 on it. I think I need a new piston and sleeve. I was wondering where I could find a new piston and sleeve and how much it would cost. It is the os 12 with the Red cooling head on it. I think it is a cvr or something like that. I bought this used so there for I dont know where and how much it would cost to get a new top end.
thanks

Get the one from Dyratrax. OS and Duratrax are owned by the same company so the quality is the same. The set from OS is $45, but the one from Duratrax is only $20. you should be able to get it from your LHS.

So I could go to the duratrax website and check it out there???? I think I would have to get it on the internet because well I really dont know how to describe our hobby shop. Lets see, the size of the whole shop is about the size of a bedroom. I live in the country and this guy owns his own HS so I have to go there. But I dont know if he carries O.S. so I usually get my stuff over the internet. If anybody knows a link or something that would really help. Thanks

The duratrax one is not made to the same quality, and they aree not owned by the same company just distributed by the same company. Either way though you can get one at towerhobbies, and the red head engine is a .12 cv or .12cv-x the r series is newer, and has a blue head.

You can still get it for 20 bucks. And even though the duratrax set is not made by os, it is still pretty good quality. I have seen the duratrax cv piston/sleeve sets last around five gallons, which is about the same as the os set. Heres a link:

well if you didnt know, all of duratrax's engines and parts are made by OS. The duratrax piston and sleeve are made by OS, so are of the same quality, just rebranded.

with that said, go ahead and go cheap if you have to... but keep in mind that Jack Roush don't use duratrax parts on his engines... my suggestion is to get the best quality that you can afford, it'll pay off in the long run..
