Default Starting him young...

I decided to get my younger brother a RC car for his birthday. First I was going to get him the mini LST for start, but I thought about it for a while, and I decided to split the total with his Father and get him the Traxxs Jato.I figured I'll start him off with a good nitro vehicle and get him used to running it under my supervision. If he gets older and wants to carry on with the hobby then that's good. On the flip side if he decides after awhile that RC is not his thing, that's fine. Either way it will be a fun learning experience for him. The hobby store next to his home carries many Traxxas replacement/upgrade parts and even carries the Traxxas fuel, so he should be fine with that. His birthday's not until July so I've got some time to think about this. I want to see what you guys think. I understand this is quite a fast vehicle for a beginner, but like I said, instead of working him up, i'll just get him a good one, supervise and teach him, and when I think he's ready, let him take it from there. Thanks guys.

Great choise choosing the jato. They are very fast fro a begginer, but as long as you are supervising him, it should not be a problem. How old is your younger brother.

thats great that your starting him out young my son started very young as well he is has been racing with the sponsored drivers now for 2 yrs and does very well. I personally would get him a rc10gt or a rtr losi xxxnt more truck for less money and more options for you down the road too. easier to drive too there pretty much dialed but its your choice

He'll be 10 this July. We went to his LHS and I wanted to show him the Mini LST(which what I was and should be getting him) but of course they had all the trucks out on display for their sale and he looked at the Jato and flipped out. I told him he has to start slow and should try this one(mini LST). So he thinks he's getting a MLST for his birthday. I cant wait to see the look on his face when he opens it up and it's a Jato!
