Engine dies when moderate throttle applied help please
I know this is a tuning issues but not sure if its to lean or too rich. After I get the truck runing when I start to apply any moderate amount of throttle the car sputters ever so slightly and dies my guess is its to rich but before I play with the needles I'd rather have somebody with experiance give me some info thanks

just wondering cause if it was pull you can feel the compression and if it flooded or semi flooded you can feel it but its rich and hopefully you have fixed it by now and already tearin it up

If it idles fine and dies after your throtle it applied its a low end needle problem, you should play with that for a while. The low end needle is usually in the throtle barrol and should be set from the factory, but it sounds like that could be your problem. To adjust the low end you would need to start the truck and let it idle for a while, floor the throtel, if it dies immedieatly its too lean, if it sputters or revs then dies its too rich. Good luck!

yeah turn it clockwise. once you have it to where it takes off like you want it to, you will have to adjust your idle (chances are the rpm's will be really high after adjustment). right now your engine is getting to much gas. I had the same problem with my 18ss. It tells you how to do this in your instructions on the page about the engine. good luck

I'm having same problems above with touching throttle, but my pipe is spitting gas. I can get the needles back close to factory setting (make needles flush), but there's no factory setting for idle screw. This is my first truck that've had for only 2 days and I need serious help

Some manufactures say roughly a 1-2mm opening in the carb. Find the spot where your engine idles nicely and does not move the car with no brakes applied.
