Default priming engine

I was tuning my 18ss engine today and when I prime the fuel, it won't go to the engine, I mean, I'll press it, it touches the carb, then it'll sizzle, then come back an inch or two.. rinse and repeat. I've tried blocking teh stinger with little success but not much =/ Is the reason behind this is too lean of a setting?

thanks in advance

Is this after youve run you motor, Because if it is then its probably just vapor lock. If it does it before youve run it when the motor is cold, then you have a blocked needle of a leak.

easy way to prime, put finger on the exhaust pipe, and pull the pull start. you will see the fuel going. If that doesnt help or what yznaction said then you may have a air leak that sucks it back to the tank
