well you could try a .18tz with the eb mods. They have 2.3 hp with the .12tz(5 port) putting out 1.62 (this is off there website). Or you cold try a .21 and get 2.5 hp. But you would have to do some mods with the .21. The biggest engine i have heard of in a xxx-nt was a .18. But with even a .18tz the trasmission i dont think would handle it for long so you would have to do something about that. But i cant imagine you needing much more then the .18tz with the eb mods to finish him off. I mean even with my .18cvr it does wheelies fine and will flip it on it's top side.
I think your best bet would be the .18tz with eb mods and 30% with some really grippy tires and maybe ( i dont think you will need it) some weights in the back. But i think with all that i would have to be scared of dumping it on the lid so much.
But thats my opinion

I will be dropping in a .18 TZ in my MT in the next couple of months. I all ready have the engine but doing some research on what tuned pipe I am going to run. If you want food for thought check out this article as it says from the factory .18 TZ put out all most 2.3 HP. More HP then some big blocks.

This is the pipe I think I am going to run but that is not final right now.

OK that first link does not seem to be working so look on this link and right up under the picture of the engine click on Review.

I alreadt have the OS .18 TZ turbo on the way for my XXX-NT. I know this is going to be uncontrollable power but I am looking to have my XXX-NT break 60 MPH on the gun. I am going to upgrade the tranny with an aluminum casing and all aluminum gears so it can handle the power. The only thing I am still going to be worried about with the engine are the stock cvd's so If I break those I am going to get either the MIP ones (have seen several break) or the titanium ones. I will let you guys know how it goes and I will also let you know if I am capable of breaking 60 MPH. Should be a close one!

yeah but all that metal to metal there should be a lot or radio glitching going on with that. You can try it but you may have to settle for some plastic gears in the end. And with evrything right i think you should ba able to hit 60mph well good lucck with that
But as i said before the .18tz with the eb mods should do the job and be enough to put the jato looking to surpass you in the wheelie competition.

I have heard from several inteligent sources that aluminum gears are not capable of creating any charge and therefore the electronics theoretically should not glitch so I do not think that will be a problem. As for the pipe, I am going to try and trun the adam drake header and pipe on it at first and if the pipe is too small for it, I may try to see if I can throw my sirio .18 pipe on there which I think would work perfectly. I will let you know the setup I end up going with. I just ordered my RB concepts airfilter and some other misc parts so I should get this thing started up in a couple weeks or so. I am in no rush as it is because the weather is so crappy.

Not to say there are not other good pipes out there but after doing some research I thing I am going with the HIGH dollar OS pipe they recommend in the manual that comes with the TZ. I know they want to seller their stuff but I have done research. I just hate buying 2 or 3 pipes and then still ending up buying the OS T1040 R70 pipe when I could have gotten it go begin with and even have more money in it. I just wish manufactures would have more specifications on there pipes as the stinger out let has a lot to do with it! If you could on the pipes you are going to run will you tell me what the ID of the stinger is? What I need is something around 7.0mm. From what research I have read the stinger ID needs to be 60% of your header pipe ID.
Thanks
Thanks

That is very useful information. It is funny you mentioned that too. Yesterday I went out to work on my cars and I was looking at the stinger on my adam drake pipe and it was really small. I took a drill bit to it and started drilling it out 2 drill bit sizes bigger. I think it is still too small so I will go look at what the sirio pipe stinger is because i know it is much bigger and probably around 7.0mm. With my adam drake pipe, I may drill it out to 60% of the header ID which will probably eliminate the stinger all together but I will just weld one back on so it can perform the way I want it to. Or I will try out the sirio pipe, see how the works then modify the adam drake to the same performance. Thanks for the info and I will let you know about the sirio BB pipe ID.

I went and did some estimate ID's on my pipes and found some information out (didn't have a micrometer with me at the time). I calculated my drilled out adam drake pipe at a hair under 6 mm ID so about 5.8-5.9mm and that is after all of my drilling. Stock it was probably a little under 5 mm. I did not have my sirio pipe with me at the time because it is at my friends house because he tried running it on his savage last year. I will get it a little later today and let you know. I did however measure the ID of my ofna 086 pipe and it measured in at exactly 8mm. I also measured the ID of my adam drake header and it is about 7/16 to 15/32 so I too would need the ID of my stinger to be in the 7 mm range so I am going to test it out the way it is with my drake pipe. If I am unhappy with the perfmormance of that, I will throw on my sirio pipe and see if it is any better (much larger ID stinger). Then if I am happy with how the sirio performs, I will cut off the stinger on my drake pipe and drill it out to 7 mm or larger and weld on a stinger with an ID of 7mm or larger. I should be satisfied my this point. I will let you know how it all goes. Thanks

its too bad more companies dont have adjustable stingers. STS has a pipe for small blocks of course, so you an change the stinger out and put in a better breathing one. Just another tuning plus for the engine!

Never saw an adjustable stinger pipe before! Good Idea now they need add the 7mm tip but I am sure for 1mm you could drill it out. All so I need a right side pipe. Thanks for the information Kemo.

Luckily I did not have to cut off the stinger and drill it out and weld on a larger ID stinger, there was just enough material for me to get the ID to approx 7mm which is what I was going to change it to anyway. Here is a picture of the ID of the stinger which is showing right bout 9/32" which if you multiply to 25.5 equals just over 7mm. I used a 17/64 drill bit and kept pushing on the sides alittle to open it up even more. So the pipe is ready to go on. That is basically all I got accomplished today because of HW and busy driving my maxx around.
BTW, the ID of the stinger started out around 4-4.5mm!
