go fast/handling + monster truck = a train wreck
a monster truck due to design isn't going to handle like a porsche at high speeds... you may want to check out the truggy stuff that's coming out..
as far as the t-maxx you have.. what I did with mine was set aside 50 or 100 bucks a week for hop-ups, I started with arms, and simple stuff, I'd pick up parts and exchange them on the truck.. eventually I ended up with my hopped up t-maxx that I wanted and also enough parts to put a stock t-maxx back together (that didn't really matter much) anyhow, the project was a bit easier to swallow doing a handful of stuff at a time..

werde! In fact, I am still trying to get my tmaxx to the point where I can run it w/o breaking it. If RPM made a complete replacement part of everything plastic on that truck, it'd never break down again. UNFORTUNATELY, i'm stuck with some traxxas parts.

at this point, I've got everything that RPM offers...
at this point also, the weak point on the truck is the rear bulkheads.. the traxxas ones just don't cut it.. I've sheared off two rear ends and one front end (the last one was kinda cool) I'm now looking for options on the bulkheads.. and then of course the next weak spot on the truck..
finally, I'm to the point where this thing doesn't break everytime I run it..

good question, I'm going to send them an email (in the morning) and ask them.. they are usually pretty cool with responses..
I ended up ebaying both the diffs and the tranny for my 2nd t-maxx, but I haven't had a problem with those parts stock (except for blowing out reverse)..
I've been wanting to stay away from aluminum as much as possible, I wish there were other options for bulkheads..

I don't own a hellfire but have played with one.. it's a very nice truck, I'm thinking that I'd like to get one eventually. Also, for about 100 bucks less, Ofna sells a RTR truggy (X1 CRT - I think).. the reviews in the mags on both of these have been outstanding!!

jato is very expensive for what you get. Its not even close to race legal for one thing. Evader, X-Cellerator (race edition), RC10GT and XXX-NT are by far better for getting started in racing.

On Truggy’s go to the Truggy thread. I hate to say it as I like HPI but if you go to the Truggy thread you will see people are having a lot of problems with the Hellfire. Every time I check the thread out seems like there is another problem. I will not get in on the Traxxas conversation, as I do not want to start a flame.

if it were me, and I was to pick just one RC car.. right now, I'd pick the HPI MT2/SS, I seem to have more fun with that one alone than any three of the others that I have combined.. it has tons of power, lots of pep.. all the stuff that fun is made of..
here's a link with some RCU reviews on it... I personally don't take it as gospel, but I do take it into consideration when I purchase a car...

my only other choices that I'd go with would be the RC10 or the Evader.. either are good choices.. I'd think if you were wanting to race, that the RC10 would be the best option just because of aftermarket support... the Evader doesn't have what the RC10 has..
