Default Help me please!!

ok first things first!

I'm new to nitro engines. I have a rc10gt with a O.S TR.12 in it. I had it installed professionally and it ran fine then all of a sudden it stopped running correctly and i tried to do small adjustments like suggested from the manual. So now it idle's too high and i cant seem to get the settings right if i turn down the idle and try to hit the brake it stall's so i have the idle semi-high still and i tried to readjust the settings to factory settings but it still doesnt seem to help any. My throttle arm is not adjusted correctly either(i think thats what its called the arm from the servo to the carb) and im noit sure how to readjust it back and the brake is not working correctly either i cant figure out how to adjust that too....

im such a mess i've been searching for awhile trying to find some info on this matter but im not having any luck i wish they had some classes to teach you how to tune and adjust stuff i dont really have anyone to help me so please if anyone can give me some advice i would be vewry grateful thanks

on the throttle to carb arm .....long bar with 2 alen key collars & spring in between .....is if the spring is compressing when you put on the brakes and in turn moving the brake link

adjust the collars out if its not compressing (allowing the brake arm to move) also check for binding of the servo arms

check the throttle trim on your controller as well

hope ya get it tuned and set right & good luck just finished fixing my kids tune up with him as well as one i got at a pawn shop we luv our rc10's

if thats not the cause give me a holler ill look at mine and my kids than try to explain in better detail steps to check across the whole car

ok well heres what happen this evening! i reset the high needle to flush, then i tried to start the truck nothing happened so i turned it a 1/8 turn and repeated until i had about 2 turns in still nothing happened. So i had turned the idle screw in 1/2 turn and tried again nothing happened. if i turn up the throttle trim up a (decent amount) it will start but as soon as i turn it down it stalls. i have my hand on the knob when i start it by the way so i can turn it down fast not to over heat the motor so now im at a wall i cant figure it out for the life of me. I know i could take it to the local hobby shop (Action hobby) they have an awesome mechanic Jeff. but i am trying to learn a little bit before i go and take the easy route. i read your post http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_44...tm.htm#4514856

and i am sort of having the same problem i am getting air bubbles in the line . The wierd thing is i have another .12 motor i installed and it pretty much had the same results and i didnt even touch a setting on it since its been tuned.

Well if you can give me any advice it would be much appreciated thanks again.

Nitro.

i was also thinking i could problably make a video if that would help and post it maybe you could get a better idea of whats going on?!?!?!

ok so i tried one more time tonight to get it running i reset the needles to factory settings then i tried to start it up, it started immediatly and it was running so damn fast i almost couldnt stop the motor from running it was like it was full throttle and the carb wasnt open anywhere close to full, but i did accidently open the idle screw too far and now i cant seem to set it up again the right way so im guessing thats why it was running at full throttle. So now im lost as far as what to do i tried to reset the idle screw but i cant seem to find the right spot for it to work correctly so again any help would be great!

i am glad to say i got it back to semi working order it has a high idle at fire up but it mellows out after about 5 seconds i jsut need to fine tune it somemore tomorrow and see what happens but i think im starting understand 2-stroke motors better now which is helping alot so expierience is def the teacher

Nitro for the fuel line (get some new line) make sure its about 3-5 inches long & has a easy bend in it not a sharp kink.....if you still get air in there maybe get some mini zip ties and seal the fuel line on the tank and the carb with them (just not to tight on the carb prong don't wanna crush it)

what do you mean by to far ??? on the idle screw....did it come out??

yes i'm still learning as these rc10's are the first nitro's my kids and i have owned ...its making for some fun quality time & laughs ....and DOH!'s when they go dad wanna know what i did with my truck

yeah as far as the idle screw i thought it came out of the groove cause it wasnt seeming to adjust right but i made sure it was lined up correctly, then i adjusted the LSN back to flush then turned it in .5 turns as far as the HSN i screwed it all the way closed and then 2 turns open. So now my truck starts but has a high idle at first then it slows after about 5 seconds. When i hit the throttle it sounds as if its about to stall or conk out then accelarates. Now i just need to figure out the fine tuning i cant deaccelarate either like if i apply the brake it doesnt do anything so i have to figure out that adjustment as well.
