Default Starter box problems

I just finished installing a OS .18TZ into my RC10GT2. Now I am trying to start it but my problem is when I apply my starter box it is unable to turn the engine over it just gets stuck. I have a duratrax universal 1/10 and 1/8 scale starter. Anyone had this problem before? This is the first ive used a starter box, is there any trick to them?

The box should be spinning at full speed before contact is made.
A brand new engine will considerably more pinch, and likely get stuck at the top of the stroke the first few times. Try pre-heating the engine with a hair dryer on high, or a heat gun on low. Get the engine up to 175-200 degrees to expand the sleeve enough.
Make sure the starter wheel isn't hitting the chassis anywhere.

what kind of battery(ies) are you using to power it?. I know mine gets stuck when it is either flooded with fuel or the battery is almost dead.

^that also makes sense too

I think the duratrax is a belt drive not sure or old brain can't remember. If it is it tends to slip quite a bit, make sure the belt is tight and not to old and glazed[&o]

Thank everyone for the help, that hairdrying idea was gold. I heated it up for about a min and the engine fired right up. I couldnt keep it running for long, i need to adjust the linkage some but at least now its starting. Thanks everyone
