Default overheating problem?

Went out for a good bash today and our cars where getting very hot after about 3/4 of the tank and stopping due to this. Is this a tuning problem on the hsn or lsn
thanks in advance

There going to be close every time you go out but you need to tune to the conditions of the day you go bashing or racing [:-] probably to lean[&o]

do you have a temp gun?
you tune the HSN for temp not the LSN.

no gauge? if lick the fin NO JUST KIDDING. put some water on your finger and just barely touch the fin if it crackels and goes away real fast its to hot but if it just evaporates over 2 to 5 seconds its OK. another way is to check your mixture and if you give your truck gas and very little smoke comes out of the exhaust your probably running to lean. To lean To HOT[:@] this is just rule of thumb nothing set in stone [:-]

How about when your moving at high speed? smoke? because your LSN could be rich and your HSN lean[&:]

When your moving its usually a grey blue the important thing is that there is smoke. Problems like your having can go both ways if I was there I could tell you by the sound pretty much. It could even be a very slight leak in the fuel tank or system causing it to lean out when the tank gets low. Does it leak fuel anywhere even when you turn it upside down?

no but when it was not working i tipped it on its side and i had sh*t loads of oily gunk comeing out the exhaust about a 20cm puddle, could this be due to the recent change of fuel from tornado 16% to model technics 16%.
thankyou for all of your help much apreciated

thats from fuel not burning your to rich m8 and the plug is loading up. Try leaning it out some and you might need new glow plugs. You can run 16% but as a rule 20% is the best across the board.
