RE: Smallest gears for a Jato 3.3
What do you mean faster? Faster as in top speed or quicker to get off the line? 24t is the largest clutch bell but you can go down to a 42t spur. Right now you have a 24t/54t which gives you a final gear ratio of 2.25. So a 42t spur and 24t pinion will give you a final gear ratio of 1.75. This is a major top speed ratio. If the spur is too small you can go all teh way down to a 18t pinion. Not sure how much adjustment the Jato motor has for gear mesh but I know there are gears that can get you down to a 1.75 ratio.
You can use a larger clutch bell as long as its a 32p. So a 26t clutch bell would really get you up there in top speed.

dont forget- overall tire diameter plays a roll too. I had masher 2000 on my jato, and had (finnaly) advertized top speed. when I tore one of the tires I went down to dirt works wich are alot smaller and now pulls wheelies like crazy, but it isnt very fast, and sometimes it dosnt shift

The earlier models had problems with burning up second gear. It sounds like thats what happened. Just get the new upgraded second gear and you should be all good.

think so? that be great. When it finnaly shifts now, its got so many rpms, it instantly back flips, and slides for like 50 feet.
