First, take your clutch off and remove the clutch-nut. In order to remove the clutch-nut, you need to use a flywheel wrench to grip the pins on the flywheel to keep it from turning. Remove the nut and your flywheel will come out with little effort. Don't lose the conical collar or any shims in the process.
If you don't have a flywheel wrench, I suggest you get one. You can use a bench vise to grip your flywheel, but it will damage your flywheel.

A pear of channel locks will work but I would wrap the flywheel with a rag. I us a flywheel wrench or a strap wrench. Some times getting the flywheel off the collet can be a pain and I use a 1 to 1 car battery terminal puller that cost less then $5 US.
Yes you can down load the manual off HPI web site.

Yes try tapping on the back of the flywheel or buy a battery terminal puller like I suggested above. Or you can buy a HIGH DOLLAR flywheel puller that does the same job. Sorry but this hobby is FAR from being cheap.

i was able to pry mine out, prob not a good idea but it worked. i also removed a fly wheel by taking big channle locks an positioning the jaws on the crank shaft tip and the back of the fly wheel and working it out, this is harder to do than prying but you have less of a chance of distroying the flywheel.
i was able to remove both of mine without gouges or dents. but remember BE PATIENT, getting PI** just makes things break[X(].

I love tools, I will buy one even if I just think I might use it. I bought the SH Engines version of this:
I've used it way more than I thought I would. This tool gets my highest reccomendation. Just about everyone will need to remove a flywheel at some point. And these things make it very easy. Stupid easy even. They are somewhat difficult to find. There is one on the bay that I could find, but I have not yet found one at one of the larger on-line stores. I got mine from Dinball (rc-mart) on the bay months ago but he does not have one now. Once the one one the bay is gone you might have to go to your LHS so they can order it from the Axial or SH Engines distributor (probably the same distributor, heck the tool is probly made by the same company).
These things must sell as fast as they are made.

Sheesh you guys go to alot of trouble to get your flywheels off... I use a large flat screw driver and place it between the back of the flywheel and the motor. I apply pressure on the flywheel with the flat screw driver and the nut pops off like a charm every time.. Its work for me enough times. The other way is to leave the engine on the car and do it from the bottom with the same screw driver you apply pressure to the flywheel and chassis this time and it will turn right off. If you get the nut off and the flywheel is stuck on all you need to do is apply a little pressure all the way around with the screw driver and it will pop off everytime. Remember its mounted on a shaft that has a very small tollerence so if it is not straight it wont slide off so just go from side to side and it comes off easy.

RCtruckRacer how much did you have to pay for that puller? The one I use I got at Advance Auto works very well and only cost $5. All so here is a picture of my RC tool box and is use only for my RC stuff.
I have been a motorcycle mechanic for over 35 years and believe in having the proper tools. I have over $100,000 in my mechanic tools not counting my machines lift and so on.

ive seen that in the short two years how technology demands new tools and skills. car caponets are getting smaller and more jam packed. for instance, the Kia and the hyundie, both very hard to work on compaired to other cars. half the time with kia, when you want a rotor off, you either beat it for a half hour or you cut it off!
