It could but not likely. Did you cut any of the wire off? How good were your batteries. The power of teh batteries makes a big difference and if you cut the antenna wire it will change the frequency that the receiver will receive. You should have a failsafe installed in any nitro rc that way it wont run away from you.

i know i didnt cut the wire. i was using a traxxas rx pack, but now its being retarded and wont recharge, so im back to 4 AAs...even worse. i think its the antenna connection inside the reciever, cuz when i jiggle it around it works then doesnt then does...but thats not my main worry i need to find out how to fix a stripped head screw first

Can you use a longer head screw to grab some other treads deeper down? Other than drilling and retapping to a slightly bigger size I dont know what else you can do other than replacing the block. You can get the engine case for about $30 on ebay maybe cheaper online somewhere. Here is a link

Use JB weld. Just coat the screw with a tiny amount of oil. Put some jb weld in the hole and then put screw in. Make sure all the other screws are tight and tighten the stripped screw as much as you can. Let it dry for about a day. If you could find a screw slightly longer to grab a few threads would be good. Once dry go ahead and run the motor to see if it leaks. If not you are good. If it does you may be able to turn the screw a little more but I bet you will be good. JB weld works wonders.

IDK how you guys say your jato's don't break. I personally have seen two totally destroyed jato 3.3's in the last 2 months. One was ran over by a car it was wrecked. The other spun out and hit a parked cars tire and tore the back half of the car off. I have seen the front chassis plate break from hitting a curb at 20mph i have seen the turnbuckles break from a double cartwheel. I've seen them run away b/c the receive has gotten fuel spilled in it and they break then also. They are no more industructable than any other car as far as i know. My rc10gt takes the same abuse as the jato and i think it depends on the crash/cartwheel/or flip you do. I have had my gt do 10 cartwheels and still drive fine. I've hit curbs straight on at 30 and launched them and not broken anything. I have also cliped a curb at 5mph and broke the stock rear a-arm. I've dropped my car from my knee to the ground and broke the rear shock tower and also seen it clear a 30 foot jump. My point is that it's all how you crash not the car you crash. You crash any object that weights 6 pounds into anything solid and your going to have damage.

Who said the jatos dont break? I agree that any truck can break at any given time. I race mine hard at the track and hit a fence post. The only thing that happened was a bent steering link. I replaced all the parts that are prone to breaking and I stay as far away from trees as I can. If I would have had stock a arms they would have snapped easily. Around where I live there are no curbs so no worry there. I mainly use mine on the track and in the fields. By no means is the jato indistructable but you can make some upgrades to make it that much more durable. Its a great truck but dont expect that you are not going to break.

Hey Abileneminimoto, they are tricky to drive, but hey! it's fun! I just got one a couple of days ago, and I'm already a ton better than I first was. It is really subjective to the kind of tire that is on the rear, the ones on mine aren't very sticky, so it's very prone to spinouts. I would get one anyway because you're bound to improve with it!

Well Thanks for the input, I was thinking of getting one but just do not know how they stack against the res. I know they are names the fastest on the street but if thats all you can do, then I kinda dont know.

All you need is some good off road tires on 2.2 rims and you will be set. Its an awsome truck but not a great basher without some other mods but set up right it will handle with the best of them.

They actually have a lot of off-road potential. It's a misconception that they are only for the road. it is extremely sure footed, my yard is really rutted, and it's not uncommon when I get into a cartwheeling death roll, yet is alyays seems to land on the wheels w/o anything breaking. but like I said, the only bad thing about it is that the tires HAVE TO be sticky.

I had dirt works. I did not like them. I have not read anything bad about yokohamas so I tried them and would buy another set if these ever wear out. They wear like iron and grip like velcro. Well not quite but you get the picture.
