hey guys i have a brand new rustler, well when i first went out i started the engine, it turned over then cut off, then when it was running i gave it full throttle and it didnt even move, the engine didnt rev up either, so i made the high speed needle leaner, now i have no smoke wat so ever coming out of the exhaust..... is this bad????

yes very bad never ever lean it til theres no smoke from the exhaust. put the settings back to factory and before you start it take a heat gun or hair dryer to the cooling head for a little bit to heat the engine up a bit. then when you start it up give it a very slight amount of gas with the wheels off the ground for a few secs and then go on with break in. hope this helps

im done with break in- procedure, i took it to my lhs to get tuned, then i had to lean it out, but there is no smoke now, would u guys happen to know how many turns out from closed on the hsn on 3,740 FT above sea level.

just start from factory and tune from there. we cant tune it for you, but we can tell you what to do. do you have a temp guage? its nice to have one to check temps every now and then. when tuning watch for bogging down and cutting out. if it bogs the moment you hit the throttle then lean the lsn an 1/8 of a turn at a time. if it bogs down at high speeds then lean the hsn an 1/8 turn at a time. make sure you have some smoke at all times. this isnt always accurate, because you can have temps above 300F and lots of smoke, so thats why a temp guage is nice to have. but dont rely on the temp guage. just use it to make sure you didnt go over the edge and so that theres no problems. good temp range is 240F to 280F
