original hpi mt
I have the original hpi mt, and i was wondering if it would be worth my time and money to make it into a race machine, how compettitive it would be? My local track has a production monster truck class that i can race in, So i dont have to worry about that.

Sure, why not? You should still completetly tear down the car and replace any worn running gear. Time is the best thing to invest, especially when racing, so you can get good at making your repairs and adjustments.

I have a MT 1 ¾ which started life as an original MT. If it where a MT 2 SS or something like that I would recommend it but the original MT does not handle as well as the MT 2. It would be costly to up date it to a MT 2 as other then the chassis upper deck and radio box that is what I did to my MT. Now if you just want to do it for fun try it.
