Default jato is flying

i have a jato 3.3 slightly moded with a new gear ratio the problem is as it hits towards a top speed the thing wants to lift up in the front and then catch air is there any other way than using a front spoiler to keep it on the ground, i have tried re-adjusting the shocks but it mostly makes it handle like a tank

it is because of the shape of the front end, you could try to put some weight in the front. maybe get the top plate bracket, it'll add alittle weight and some strength

yea adding weight and lowering ride height are about all you can do...basically something that light moving that fast is going to want to take off

it may slow you down some, but what is better....keeping the front end down at 65 plus, or as it is goin past 65 blowing over and possibly desintigrating. IMO even with the added weight, you will be able to go faster because you will have more control

Do you have your battery mounted in the center? If not then that will help alot. Also you can use a tire weight in the front. Just a few oz.

I put the battery pack in the middle and now I don't have any flipping, whell sometimes it will start to come up and I let off the gas and get back on it and it and it doesn't come up any more. Here is a link to my recent video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=YJV4ir9H6ec

I'm making just what you need a 1/10 st truck scale high speed body. Currently im thinking about some med strength aluminum for the body, possibly plastic first. I have the mold half done in the last week or so. It will be capable of fitting over my tires and im thinking of some other things along the way fuel, air intakes. I went to the shop to get some more details on the thickness and strength of the body to use. Im making it so the body works with rc10gts and jatos for starters. What that means it will be made with body of those cars body posts in mind first. In the future i might make them for all kinds of models. I've checked the pricing on aluminum, titanium, and carbon fiber as possible body materials and its looking like aluminum and plastic might be what i use and maybe a mix of both. In the future i might go with a carbon aluminum body that i think looks wicked in my head.

I been thinking about a front spoiler for the Jato for awhile now.Would it not be possible to take the stock front bumper and heat it up enough to bend down right at the control arms.Bend it to say a 4 oclock position as viewed from the side ,then put a scrap piece of lexan over it?

what kind of speed are most people getting out of thier jato's? all i have done to mine is changed the spur i think its somewhere around a 42 tooth but i dont remember exactly i re-adjusted the 2 speed so i can still get pretty good acceleration but the top end is now just plain insane i havnt really been able to let it get to full speed yet it just seems to keep accelerating to the point where i cant find an open space big enough to let it top out plus the tires just wont let me stay on the road its like driving on fan blades and thats only when they stay on the rims i have to replace 22 pieces because of a mishap but at least its not the frame

Full size exotic sports cars put enough downforce on the ground to drive upside down this means they generate somewhere around 4000 pounds of downforce on the cars suspension to keep it on the ground. When a maclearn f1 or other newer cars that are fast go over 230 mph they need to put down more downforce than the car weights to keep it from going airborn. With your average family car you need to hit around 90mph if you had wings to make it fly so if your trying to hit those speeds with an rc car you need a big big motor and lots of downforce. I guess thats why it takes 700+ hp to go over 230 mph. Oh yah and if you can put this much downforce on your car you tires won't be able to go pizza cutter on you.
