I have tried it before...
I didn't have the actual tool to do it with, I just used a hose clamp and a torch. I screwed it up BIG time[&o].
It is a solid theory, and I don't doubt that it would work....But I didn't do it right.
I run a relatively inexpensive engine, so it doesn't really pay for me to mess around.

I would say it's a last-resort option for a pricey engine or hard-to-find replacement.

i have personal used that person and it worked. Though the engien i did it on i have yet to really run alot but it dose work and saves a lot of money.
