Ok I have a custom jato 3.3 (using spektrum reciever and servos) and I was running it in the rain, whell it looks like the balloons don't waterproof the servos... soooo..... I need a new steering servo. What should I get Futaba or Hitec and what modle? I only have $60 right now and I need to get a roto start. My dad might loan me some money so just give me a good quality servo.

That servo all so is SLOW. A good servo runs at least $70 and a really good one up to $125! Get one with a speed of no less then .13. If you ever run a good servo you will never go back to cheap ones. Speed makes a BIG difference!!!!!!!!!

ok I am going to get the [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDWF8&P=7]futaba S3305[/link] and the [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEVM9&P=7]hot bodies roto start[/link] for my jato. Hopefully my dad will get to the lhs tomarrow to get them and hopefully they will have the servo and roto start.

just get a traxxas 2055 servo unless ur racing it don't really matter. i have no problems why waste seventy dollars on a fast acting servo if your never gonna utalize it?

Yeah, I am currently running a futaba s3305, and it is noticeably slower than the hi-tec 645mg.
46u is right, a good, powerful, fast servo is REALLY the way to go...but it's kinda hard to argue with 'crap!!I'm broke!!'
If you are going to compromise, then look for something that has some more torque than the stock one. If you pick the front end up and swing lock to lock...they go pretty fast. Just setting the wheels on the table will significantly slow them down. A boost in torque is going to give you the most noticeable gain initially. That you can do relatively inexpensively with something like the hi-tec. If you go from slow, sloppy stock, to ultra-powerful, lightning quick response...the difference will be so dramatic, you will crash into everything, and have an awful time trying to control it.

Alright 46U, no offense not everybody here can spend up to $70 - $120 on a stupid servo, they all do the same job. Its not a big deal give him a break.

Why not just get a [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-MG995-Metal-Gear-Torque-Servo-Futaba-Hitec-JR-S9350_W0QQitemZ280198796392QQihZ018QQcategoryZ3405 6QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem]Tower Pro MG995[/link]. Those are the super cheese servos you see on ebay for $20 a pair, but are amazingly good. I like them better than the futaba 3305's. Perfect for budget bashers. The seller I linked is good. I have bought from them multiple times with no problems.
