Default Greetings!!!

Greetings to all!
Just signed up, figured Id say hello to the place Id be spending most of my time.
Anyways, as my first truck, I just got a Jato 3.3 off of ebay, everything came with it, save the charger for the ez starter battery, but I already had one. Came with 2 or 3 sets of wheels and tires, Traxxas TQ Remote. Not sure what type of Receiver, but its got the green crystal in it. The guy forgot to send the 4 AA battery pack holder so Im waiting for that, but I already started it up. So it runs good, transmission shifts good. Idles good once its warmed up.
What I was wondering is, is there anything I should know beforehand about it before I start running it. Im gonna be getting an inline filter for it so nothing can get clogged up, and getting a nice big filter for it so the engine can breath more gooder(Yes I knows good grammar...most of the time)
But thats about all I have to say for now...And what to do once I get the battery holder, how do I go about connecting it? Didnt see a plug anywhere, so..Any info is greatly appreciated!
Thanks much!!
~Wendell~

WELCOME to the forum,wisewendell!

You got me a little confused, how can you run it without batteries to power the reciever and servos,or are the batteries your waiting for for the ez starter?
Again,welcome.

I am waiting for the battery for the servos, I should clarified that, I did start it up and ran the engine, revved it up by pulling on the throttle arm, dont know if this is safe or not. But shows how much of a noob I am .

Thanks much!! Glad to be a part! Yeah I had a firm grip on everything..And I was wondering something, I hear its hard to keep the front end down, soo I have some weights, about 4 inches long or so, weights about 8 to 10 ounces, if I ziptie it to the front bumper will that make any difference? A good difference that is? I dont want it to get worse can I also put weights inside where the rechargeable battery pack goes?Ohh by the way, is the plug thats in there the plug that I use for the double aa's?
Thanks much!

Wisewendell, if you get a rechargable rx pack you can put that in the middle compartment to help keep the front down a bit. then if you decide you need more weight on the front you can go from there.

I got rechargeable AA's so I figure them should work, and I gots some weights to go in the compartment too so I should be good.
And to the earlier poster, I lucked out, guy said he ran 6-7 tanks through it and he said he's been doing rc for 15+ years...He could be blowing smoke. We shall see once all is up and running.
Thanks again!

get rpm arms now, dont get stuck somewhere with busted arms! also to keep the front down, lower the front, or use taller spur gear.

I think at the moment its a 54 tooth. Not sure which way to go...I also put some nice big tires on it. Took of the anacondas and put on another set the guy sent with it, they're sporttraxx talons...dont know if those are any better or not, but they're a lot bigger then the stock tires.. Anyways...SO a arms should be aluminum? You recommend aluminum shock towers as well?

if you bash, dont get aluminum. you will just transfer shock energy, and break front ends and tranny halves. its easier to replace a-arms than other stuff. Ive had my rpm arms for a year, and havent broke any thing, well, a couple bulkheads but itwas full speed into something straight on. A way to make your jato taller is to get masher 2000's. they have great grip in loose soil and grass, and takes some punch out of the motor so your front stays down longer. right now i have 56th spur, 21 clutch bell, and speed paws. the medium pins on the speed paws grab good on the clay soil I now live around. track quality dirt for free.
