hey guys, i was thinking about getting an rc10gt. are there any major weak points of the truck? everyone seems to love it... do you think i would be able to re-gear the clutch bell and spur to get around 40 without loosing too much low end on the stock engine?

Big question for everybody:

What are the best rear shocks I should put on my RC10GT to replace the old WORN OUT AS HELL stockers? Should I go with Evader shocks, Losi XXX shocks, some hopup RC10 shocks? Just tell me whats best for landing pretty big jumps on the racetrack with my heavy alum truck. Thanks

I might go with those. Are they pretty stiff? Rebound well? Have you had any problems with leaking oil or anything?

actually, my friend uses them. he hasnt had any problems at all. theyre really smooth moving and you can get a bunch of different spring strengths for them.

The only weak point worth upgrading is the brakes , RX box and if you prefer, an MIP clutch.
The brakes are $32 from Crescenzi Racing(see my signature for link). The RX box is $7 and MIP clutch is $10
If you bash a lot you can get RPM a-arms, but if your going to race, just keep the stock ones.
The stock engine might get you above 40 if you re-gear it, but will loose a lot of bottom end. I would say get a new motor if that is your option.

The stock ones are good! If you put different manufacture shocks on your GT, you will change the dampening and not get a balanced setup. Don't do it!! Especially Duratrax..
I would just buy all new shocks or rebuild the old ones. I had a few leaking issues and I tried using the green slim and that didn't work either. After inspecting them, I had a nic in my shock shaft that was tearing the o-rings. After I replaced the shafts, new o-ring kit and just using shock oil on the threads, they never leaked again.

Well I've already rebuilt them with my friend, and it made no difference. So I need new shocks.

What are the threaded shocks?

I have a set of Team Bluestar threaded shocks, but they all leak too!! There's a hole in the top of each one, and all the oil just squirts out of them.

I'm already bidding on a good-looking set of [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6053936003&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT]Evader shocks[/link]. If I find (or you guys show me) a better set to either bid on or buy that are roughly the same price, I can retract my bid on that auction.

Ok a while back I had a problem with my ae.15 not being able to get fuel to the carb, I had it sitting around for a while then one day i decieded to rebuild the carb I did that cleaned it out and made sure there were no blockages. Today when I went to try it for the first time since the rebuild I still can't get fuel to the carb. If i remove the line going to the carb fuel will start coming out of the tubing so it does have pressure going to it. Also if I pour a few drops of fuel directly into the carb under the air filter the engine starts right up but doesn't draw anyfuel up the tubing. Im at my wits end with this finky engine. I was weighing the choice of just getting an os .18 but the ae.15 has only about a quart and a half of fuel through it/ [] Thanks if any one can help

you might have an air leak...or did you try covering the exhaust and pulling a few times until fuel got to the carb?

elite try taking the tube off the muffler and blow on it , should get fuel flow to carb, if not u should find a leak that way just becareful not to get a mouthfull, might be the seal(oring) to the tank lid

I did this under water when i was rebuilding the carb I took the fuel tank and the tubing under water and plugged one end of the tubing up and blew into it and found no leaks and someone told me to replace the tubing and I did that.
