Anybody know if Associated is ever going to come out with a new GT design? It's been around for a long time and hasnt changed. I know it's a good design but something new would be nice.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread
Bring more fuel...
The less powerful thh engine the more likely it is to use less fuel, since it's not drawing as much in on each stroke. On the other hand, a more powerful engine may use more fuel, but will be more efficient at moving the vehicle just as fast as the less powerful engine, but requiring less effot, using less fuel. In short, both engine are just as likely to use the same amount of fuel in a given run. It's just once may last longer, while the other may travel faster. You could mount another tank on there somewhere too(not sure where or how) but that would just mean added weight, which isn't good for racing, and will just make you use more fuel in the long run. I'd say your best bet is to tune what ever engine your using so that you get the leanest mixture possible, without runnign the risk of severely damaging the engine. That's really the only way your likely to see any significant improvement in total run time per tank, unless you just keep topping off the tank while it's running. In which case, see my first statement.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread
Hey guys I bought an RC10GT about two weeks ago. So far so good. Aside from the fact that I know I don't have it tuned right. I don't own a VCR so the tape you get with the kit is no help. Is there any videos on the intenet I could watch? I have search and found nothing.
Thanks

While I'm in this thread, I'll add something. I just ran 3/4 tank through my truck real fast and mannnn it ripppss!!! I just installed some new front aluminum bulkheads from Team Bluestar for extra strength. I was just running it up and down the streets around me, chasing cars (catching up so easily), and doin speed runs... I love this truck so much!!!

RE: Official RC10GT Thread
I have two really sturdy zipties holding the coupler on. I cranked down REALLY hard on both of them with 2 pairs of pliers when I put the zipties on. I've had them come off a couple times, but not recently. Just get two pairs of pliers or something (one to hold the big part of the ziptie, and one to hold the end and pull) and just crank down on them as hard as you can to get it really really tight. Just make sure you don't pull it sideways and pinch the coupler right off the muffler or manifold
Oh and I've tried hose clamps on the muffler before, and they don't work well at all.

What engine is it, try searching for that engine. If it is OS they tend to have pretty good tuning guides. I am sure someone here will know the factory settings to start with, and adjust from there.
Took me a little bit to get mine tuned, but it is holding the tune really well, and hauls major a@@.
Shame I need to sell it

RE: Official RC10GT Thread
I belive it is an OS. One problem that I am having thats easy to explain is when I break it dies.
I will keep search for some standerd settings so to speak.
EDIT: I just search for OS engine manuals and finally brought up a lot of help full stuff. Thanks

tsua your problem is the idle speed screw. you need to take your air filter off, and turn the idle screw in until you have about a 2mm gap (rotary carb) or 1.5mm gap (slide carb) when you're on the brakes.

so its a TTR engine. turn the throttle trim on the radio so it put s the brakes on when u let go of the trigger. then turn the dile screw in until it will idle nicely and its fixed.

Thats a start. You just have to play with it some, I know its frustrating, but its all worth it when you get it adjusted and you get to wind it out for the first time. . .and actually stop too lol
I just got a new motor for my other truck so i have to go through all the adjusting and breaking in again. . . not the fun part of the hobby but something you just have to expect. Hang in there you sould pretty close to getting it tuned.
