I have the T3.0 in my Rush and the clutch bell turns the spur gear. I checked the slipper and it seemed fine. Maybe I just need to tighten it a whole lot.

fire it up with the body off, hold the truck in place, and watch the nut/spring on the topshaft. if they spin, with the truck stationary, it's something inside the transmission (likely the diff)

Do you have any aftermarket drivetrain parts? MIP CVD's, anything like that?

Tighten the slipper down all the way then back it out 1/4 of a turn. Start it up and see if she goes

I ran it today and it ran great... for about ten minutes. Then it stopped accelerated when it got to about 10 miles per hour. It would accelerate until then and the engine would rev up but it just wouldn't go any faster. I would tighten the slipper but it was tightened as far as it would go. I really don't know what is wrong as all the gears seemed fine when I looked at them.

The engine runs fine it just does not turn anything? Or does the engine run funny?

The engine runs fine and turns everything. I'll take a closer look tomorrow and see if the brake moves since it is behind the slipper clutch. If it moves, it isn't a slipper clutch problem.

You need to take a look at your differential.

Yeah, but I allready did and it ran fine for about ten minutes and then had the same problem of not accelerating past a slow speed.

Yep, but that wouldn't cause this to happen.

On another note I need stiffer springs for my Rush. I have MT2 shocks in the rear and they fit really good. I was thinking of getting the purple springs: [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGJU2&P=Z[/link] or the blue springs: [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGJU1&P=Z[/link]. I think these would help keep the rear from scraping!

I ran it today and heard a grinding noise coming from inside the tranny. I think it is the diff. ThunderbirdJunkie, were these the MT2 gears that fit the Rush: [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBTA4&P=Z[/link]?

WHats goin on 66? I believe that is the gears you want. I hope so, cause I have a few new sets of those for my Rush trucks. So now you get to rip the whole things apart again. Bummer Deal !Besides the grind, how did she run?

It runs great, and starts on the first few pulls once primed. I think it has an air leak so I'll probably get one of the tanks without a primer. Everythings good except the whole "it won't go past 10mph" problem!

I have heard nothing but bad things about the primer tanks, nice concept, but bad flaws. Here is a link to a good fuel tank.

To bad you did not see the the spider gears when you initially opened her up. Best of luck and hope to hear you get her running good soon, keep us posted

I looked at the diff gears but just didn't see anything wrong with them. I guess I was wrong... I'll go to the LHS and pick up some MT2 gears in the next few days if they have them.

I replaced the differential gears in my Rush today with new MT2 gears and found a nice suprise! Since the MT2 has 2 diffs (I think) I have an extra set of gears! Anyway, when I opened up the diff I saw that the grease was shiny and had small pieces of metal in it. The stock gears were very worn (how did I not notice this before?) so I put the new ones in. It now runs likes its brand new! It stalled a few times but I just adjusted the idle speed and now it runs great! I'll post some pictures of the old gears next to the new ones tomorrow! [8D]

I ran my Rush today and after running it I took the glow plug out, put some after run oil in it, and tried to screw the glowplug back in. However, instead of screwing in easily like it normally does, it tried to screw in at an angle and was hard to turn. So I then had to force it to screw in straight up. Do you guys think that the threads could be stripped in the engine?

I know, I think I may have to buy a new one of these: [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPZG1&P=Z[/link] since it has the threads in it. I just want to know what could cause this to happen!
