Default Nitro Rustler air filter oil question

Howdy, I've got a nitro rustler and some replacement air filter foam. I know that after you clean it you have to put oil on them. My question is what kind of oil can I use that I have lyin around the house? Would something likea light motor oil work? Any help is appreciated.

For a couple bucks, you can get a bottle of air filter oil. I've been using the same bottle for like a year now.

Some detergent motor oils will attck some foams used for air filters.[&o]

Use air filter oil for foam, cheap and wont hurt the foam element.

I would say a light machine oil like 3-in-1 or marvel mystery oil.

For foam element filters you want to use a foam filter oil. I use Klotz Foam Filter Oil. You might be able to find it at like your local motorcycle dealer or you can get it from a MX or ATV online store.

ORIGINAL: usa98030

Just purchase the traxxas air filter foam
1.75 oz TRX air filter oil

Klotz Foam Filter Oil
http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/pr...FamilyId=12286

For a few dollars more you can get a 15.25oz can of the Klotz Foam Filter Oil which will last alot longer than the little 1.75oz bottle of TRX filter oil. IMO the TRX oil is a rip in price. You'd have to buy almost 9 bottles of TRX oil to equal one can of the Klotz.

9 1.75oz bottles at $4.79 compared to one 15.25 oz can of Klotz at $7.49, I'll let you all do the math. Heck 2 bottles of TRX cost more than the Klotz and you only get 3oz's.
