lets talk about nitro fuel
so i was thinking about switching over to 30% nitro in my firestorm and was just wondering what the benefits and drawbacks (if any) would be. i currently run 20% in the truck right now, and its well broken in now, i have over a gallon through it. what needs to be done for the first couple runs when i switch over, and is there anything i should do or know before switching over to a higher nitro content?

Richen up the needles 3/4 of a turn.
You will notice cooler temps and greater performance. might get about 30 seconds less runtime though. As far as drawbacks, you will have to add another head shim if you switch to 30%.
What fuel did you have and what 30% will you be swithing to? Fuel and oil content/if it is race or RTR blend.

Dude you gotta go with byrons! best stuff out. The 30% will be fine I run it with no issues. Just start with factory settings and tune from there.

RE: lets talk about nitro fuel
i have been running byrons 30% in both my firestorms for the past 6 months with no problems. I did not shim the head just started at factory settings and went a tad richer

ok cool, thats good to know actually. i figured i would have to re-tune, but i dont see the point of a new shim. i dont see what a new shim will do that mine wouldnt. someone even said i could even put a stock shim in when i switch but i still dont see the point of all that.

RE: lets talk about nitro fuel
You are adding another shim and not removing any.
This raises the gap between the top of the piston and the button at TDC which lowers the compression.
(more volume in combustion chamber at TDC)
Run Byrons gen 2
