Here are some pics with a rough layout of how things are going to be. I had the hardest time finding a dogbone that was the proper lenth for my longer chassis.

Well I think your intentions are good and you have the right idea, however, you might consider upgrading your differential. And as for your spur gear, definitely needs to be upgraded to either aluminum or titanium. I have titanium tranny parts on my max ST that has a .21. (made them myself in my Mill/Lathe) I would suggest making your own parts but I doubt you have the right equipment for it. Not many people do.

I actually do have the right machinery to make the parts, mill, lathe, surface grinder. However I dont have the knowlege to go with it. I am however learing. Here is some pics of the chassis with some components bolted to it. I drilled with the holes with a brigeport mill. I need to find a body that will fit right also.

RE: Nitro mt dubble engine.
here is the link for the ring gear I should use. but the thing is just so ecpensive. I think I will strip a cupple of stock gears off first.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTB54&P=Z and here is the stock replacement http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTB48 seems a little pricy. and there is no way that I could make that. |
RE: Nitro mt dubble engine.
mitt-
have you thought about using 1/8 scale running gear? (diffs, dogbones) it shold hold up to the power pretty well!;) |
RE: Nitro mt dubble engine.
I am not a 1/8th scale guy so I have no idea what would fit into the mt.
|
RE: Nitro mt dubble engine.
well since you have a new chassis anything can pretty much fit in man;)
|
RE: Nitro mt dubble engine.
True. I just got done making up a list of parts that I need form tower. It came out to like 80$, all that little stuff adds up.

RE: Nitro mt dubble engine.
i know.....................my RC10GT is now at 450 dollars and still counting[&:] the diff mounts are pretty much the same between buggies with 4 mounts. One on each corner. The gears are all steel inside and made to take some serious abuse. Check out the diff prices on ebay! the center diffs are steel too. This would eliminate alot of problems now and down the road man.
