Im already to go now, just got to come up with my scheme.
Here's my first flames on a bit of coke bottle, but might just go for the classic red-orange-yellow flames on a metalic body.
How do you do thoses rip effects? they look cool....[8D]

flames lookin good.
the rip effect's are done by masking each rip area as one full piece. then add black shadow all around.
paint background colour.
using a sharp knife follow the edge of the rip but a couple of mm in to it to create the white outline.
I have a special knife used for stencil cutting, the blade is tiny and pivots around the tip so you can change direction without lifting off the object.
remove the cut outline area and paint white (apply enough coats as not to allow any other colour to show through.)
now start with orange and follow the edge of each rip and change to yellow then eventually white on the larger areas.

the small dot stars are by hand just dab a spot of white paint on the body with a brush. some have then been misted over the top with the airbrush to get a difused look. the stars that have points are done using the airbrush and two pieces of masking tape.
place the tape together so that they have a small gap between each piece then spray from the centre of the star out to one side then from the centre out to the other.
remove the tape and replace it at 90 degrees to the last line and spray again from centre out.
remove and replace at 45 degrees and repeat untill you have an 8 point star. then diffuse the centre by spraying a mist over the centre point of the star, the star is complete.

Would you be interested into doing a body for me??? I have a DuraTrax Evader ST, I use the Pro-Line Crowd Pleazer XXX-T body for my Evader... Keep up the good work...Damn...

I assume you meen the ones on the wolverine shell.
first cut some masking tape (I use offcuts of vinyl) to the shape of the full rip.
shadow the masked shape with black and paint the backround colour.
with your sharp blade cut the centre rip out off the mask so it leaves the metal pieces still masked off.
paint this strip with the colour you want ( I used black in this case but other colours can look better on the right job)
now remove the remianing mask and paint black along the line of your centre cut. This gives you the blend from darkness out to the edges of the metal pieces.
paint the rest in silver.
job done.

Im going to start experimenting with crash helmets soon.
but im so used to working in reverse now ,it will take a while to go back to std painting.

for the detail stuff like on characters/cartoons i paint them with a bristle brush.
for straighter lines like on patterns or flames i will cut them from mask
i dont know what pressure i spray at my compressor only shows the tank pressure and not the variable.
i just adjust the air so that it flows neatly.
i always use pactra paints and use standard cellulose thinners.
I have used spaz-stix paints but only when requested due to cost.
i have 2 air brushes both Aztec one A470 and the other is a 370 or 320, both can use the same tips but the A470 is the dual action and best used for the detail stuff.
