I would just like to know if there is anyone here that has tried to use a dremel tool for cutting out there lexan body. I just started to do my first body and used the dremel and it seemed to work wonders. Any ideas??? or do you think this is a really bad one??

For cutting out the body i wouldnt say to use a dremel..one slip and you have a big problem. If its working for you then thats good, but give the scribe method with a new x acto blade a try. Done properly you usually dont even need to clean the edges up as it leaves a nice smooth drips edge.
Just wondering what bit are you using for cutting out the body?

Bam before tryin the cutting wheel(your decision but i would not do that[X(]) give the scibe method a try, i think you'll be much happier with the results doin it that way.

RE: Dremel tool for cutting
I used the cutting wheel for a lot of it. I then used a sanding cylindar to smooth out. for holes I used a old rim I had since it's about 2 inches and traced a circle. I used it for the cooling head on the back and a cooling hole in the windshield. I then cut with the cutting wheel into a square and rounded out with the sanding cylindar. for little holes I used a small engraver cutting tool to drill right through then open it up. all very very easy. I will post pics of the final product here tonight. It's just one color but it was my first attempt at a body so I didn't want to get too crazy.
P.S. I tried the scribe method but it was soooooo slow it was driving me nuts. That's when I thought of my dremel.

Whatever method your happy with then stick with it, but that sounds like a heck of a lot longer than it takes to scribe it. It takes me under 10 mins to scribe a body out and then theres no need for sanding after its been scribed its all clean edges.

I use the standard x-acto style blade that comes to a fine point. Just make sure its a brand new blade, they work faster than a dull one.
As i said if your happy with using a dremel and not having problems then stick with it, but everyone i've showed the scribe method to couldnt believe how fast and clean it is and comes out.
