Well the City of Lakeland is not going to let us camp overnight at our field anymore due to the Homeland Security Act. Our field has six 12 inch water wells on it which is Lakeland's emergency water supply. I will also have the temporary gate code very soon and everything will be as normal but the camping. Also anyone planning on coming to the Lakeland contest go on the D3 website and preregister.
Thanks everyone and sorry about the no camping thing.

Hey Houston,
That scheme on the wings looks great. I can't wait to see it in person and if you remember how mine flew at Tangerine, well the Monster fly's just as good. Keep us posted when you get more photos.

Hey Victor,
The Passport is new/used andMarcio's 170CDI is in it. .Bought from Juan Carlos Alverez, an AMPS member in Coral Gables, FL. Near finishing, servos, plumbing for the tank, servo cables to the elevator servos (through the tube in the fuse), etc. Hope to have it done before Lakeland for at least get a couple of flights andtrim things outbefore attempting a contest with something relatively new again.

Great job Houston and Mike!!
Mike - I'll be glad to help you trim-up the Passport if you like at the Lakeland contest. I've had my hand on a few of these, including that one when George Brod originally flew it
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
Thanks for the generous offer, I'll take you up on it at Lakeland. Thought of you as it neared completion; I especially wanted a tidy installation because you've set the bar so high.
Regards,
MP

Looks like we're going to have SEVEN from the Eglin club coming to Lakeland. Ron Van Putte, John Fuqua, Houston Schweitzer, Mike Plummer, Terry Green, Greg Grigsby and myself! We're still trying to convince Curt Oberg to try the current AMA pattern. Our pattern group is getting quite large.

Things don't look good for me making it to Lakeland this year. I received my lay-off notice Wednesday and my allocation of remaining labor hours. It's not a pretty picture.

Hey Rob,
Sorry to here of this. I've always been told "one door closes and another opens up" and something is going to be better just around the corner. Sounds very corny but I believe that because is happened to me in 2003 and now I'm doing better that I ever have my entire life. So get out there and make it happen, stay at home, practice and you'll be out there competing like normal.
Good Luck
Larry

Bob:
Sorry to hear of your loss.
But as Larry said, things open up for the better. I know, it happened to me in 1970, 1982, 1992. Each time significant progress was made. I am now retired, have been for the past 2 years and living comfortably with very little debt (read as no mortgage).
Keep the faith.

Vquick,
Missed your call today and did not notice till around 10PM Central, somewhat late to call back.
We should be arriving Lakeland around 5PM local time and too late to practice. Looks as though Ron, John, Houston, Gregg, Terry, Rob and I will be there unless something unforeseen derails our plans. Looking forward to the weekend.

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to give a little heads up. My e-mail account should be up and running again Friday some time. Verizon totally cancelled it out and it's taking the an act from congress to get it back up. If there are any questions about the contest feel free to call me on my cell.
It's been a very hectic week for me, we moved to our new home and we are still working to finish and the worst news was learning that my father was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. I'm really looking forward to see everyone and have a great contest and lots of fun.
See you all next week

Found something to compete with see you guys Friday. Alot of the RCACF guys talked me back into pattern and now most of them are not going. Too bad because supporting local contest is what keeps the hobby going. Looking forward to meeting some new flyers.
