The 2013 Emerald Coast Beachcomber Pattern Classic will be held 28-29 September, 2013 at the Eglin Aeromodellers' field, Test Site C-3, Eglin AFB, FL. The entrance to thre site is off Highway 285, about three miles north of College Blvd, Niceville, FL. The entry fee is $30.00 and Saturday lunch is included in the entry fee. The pilots' meeting is at 0830 and we will start flying at 0900. The plan is for four rounds on Saturday and two on Sunday.

For FAI, I will conduct a poll here on RCU and let the prospective contestants decide on whether we will fly P/F-13 or P/F-15 sequences. Since the contest is post World Championships, the P/F-13 sequences will be effectively relegated to the history books, I would like to give the pilotsand judges achance to preview the newsequences.

If youare thinking about attending, please preregister on the NSRCA D-3 website. As of this post, the website shows 6-7 October. I coordinated the date change with Larry Odom and he and Mike Williams will update the website shortly.

I have some good news updates on the contest:

1. Security Update. The Air Force installed a new entry control system in the active test area, so the gate on State Road 285 can remain open! We will not have to deal with keeping the main gate to the site locked as we enter and leave during the weekend.

2. Prizes. It looks like I'll have some goodies to raffle off at the contest.
