The simple rules are as follows.
1. Flying Start
2. 3 cell 45-90c battery
3. 5 laps
4. 2 pylon course
5. Any Funfighter
Steve you will be amazed at the way these things fly. BTW can you make it up next Friday for a dry run through the scoring. I think Jerry will be back again and I can probably get the Kimbros to come down. We have the FAI class in it now as well. Gordon has simplified the layout and made more it even more user friendly.
FAI is shaping up to be a really good contest. Not the numbers of masters but not to shabby

Sounds like fun. Since we can get these from the US warehouse I'm in. Bought an el cheapo hobbyking 2.4Ghz rx for it as well. I elected to go with something other than the bearcat.
So, what are the rules for this mini event?

Ok Steve No Problem I will call you. Below is an example of how we are going to be running things. These are just names I plugged in and is NOT to be confused with the flight orders that will be posted just prior to the event.
Needless to say do not look at who you follow in order to know when your up. Simply know what time your scheduled and be there a few minutes early.
Brock is going to to be the flight line manager and he will keep everybody moving I am sure of that.

RE: 2013 Bakersfield 2nd Annual Pattern Bash
That's a bummer about the funfighter, email me a picture of the damage and I will try to help out. As for the contest things are coming together nicely and I have some new info to put out.
1. We will be able to open registration as soon as the Riverside contest is over. It is my understanding the website will only allow one contest at a time. Sending in the entry fee is not required but we would really appreciate getting as many as possible pre registered so we can do flight orders and get the judging assignments done early. ENTRY FEES WILL BE ACCEPTED ON SITE
2. Old School will be divided into two categories by K-factor. 45K and 35K (This will make it so more people will be able to participate and get a feel for how it was to pick your own pattern)
3. Raffle Plane.. We are going to have a Nuance thanks to F3A Unlimited and The Bear Mountain Flyers to raffle off. Tickets will go on sale on Fri. Morning and will stop once 100 tickets have been sold. Must be present to win and the proceeds will go to a local charity. $20 a ticket or 5 for $100.00.
4. OLD SCHOOL, AMA MASTERS, and FAI will each fly two rounds on Friday starting at 11 am. The field will be open all week for practice and will only be closed Friday from 10:45am -3:30pm and then again from 6pm until dark so we can hopefully get 2 rounds in with the funfighters
5. FOOD ON SITE The Friday Evening dinner at the field is free to all contestants and workers (Make sure you thank Mike and Jessica when you see them). We will also be ordering Pizza for lunch on Friday and Sunday and then have chicken on Sat. Sodas and Water are available to buy on site.
I am Looking forward to Riverside as we have a pretty good size group from this area planning on going. Then the Bash is just around the corner.

Probably too late for the events coming up in April, but down the road you might want to check out this site for listing events, registrations etc. Much more flexible and user friendly than the NSRCA site.

OK its that time again I need your shirt sizes. This year one shirt will be included in you pilot package that you will receive when you sign up. Addition shirts will be available for $15.00 just let me how many you want. The shirts are similar to last years with just a few changes Thanks to Jon B. Please ask around to your friends that may be coming and just give me the name and size.
Thanks

OK guys I have all of you that either replied here or sent me emails. As for the rest we are going to go off the list we had last year as well. Don't worry if the size in your packet is not right we will exchange it. Things are shaping up nicely and the only real change is the dinner at the field Friday. We moved it to Saturday as we will all be out there already and its just to much work to get back to the hotels in time to clean up and then go to dinner. Think of it as dinner and a show lol The bearcat racing will surely be something to remember.

Event registration is now open - you can register for the event here [link=http://nsrca.us/index.php?option=com_jevents&task=icalrepeat.detail&evid=6&Itemid=602&year=2013&month=04&day=12&title=2nd-annual-bakersfield-pattern-bash&uid=ecb08b065f191b5021d29da1362fc727]NSRCA Website[/link]. You'll be able to select which old school class you are flying, which AMA class, t-shirt size, additional t-shirt sizes/quantities and whether you plan to attend dinner on Saturday night and how many additional guests you are bringing.
Let me know if you have any issues with the registration.

Not to much to add at this time except the raffle pool seems to be getting larger by the day. Not only do we have a Nuance but we have 50% off a contra drive thanks to Brennar, a ton of glue to give away, Jerry sent over a few of his mounts as did my dad. APC stepped up this year and not only sponsored 2 trophies but sent us a ton of props to give away. I have been in touch with Smart fly as well as Castle and Truturn so we should have a pretty nice assortment by the time the contest rolls around.
I have been on the phone almost constantly for the past couple weeks and it seems like just about everyone is going to make it. The only thing I don't have yet is a countdown clock for the rarebear race. Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about making one. If so PM me and I will call you.
Chip
BTW Good news by all accounts. Jennifer and Jessica have confirmed they will be here along with Joe Bridi, Clarence Lee, and Bob Smith. I think I will scratch the jet demo as we are going to have a demo of F5B instead. Same speed just louder, and its a glider!!!!!!!

Just one thing to add today.
The 35k Old School class will be 12 maneuvers not counting take off and landing, as is the 45k Masters class.
I was really excited to see all the people signing up for these classes they are going to be huge. As a matter of fact I just got off the phone with the 89 Master Champion Mr Bob Barkley who is coming out of retirement to fly his gorgeous original design "Whisper" Needless to say we will be shortening the pipe this weekend and getting the old ys hooked up.
The class are all filling nicely and it seems Masters just keeps growing. I have a confirmation from John Bentley plus I heard a rumor Mr. Masters himself George Asteris is coming out if he can get a descent flight. I also spoke with AC and he will be in next week as well. I tell you if you want to know where you measure up on a national level this will be the place to be.
All the trophies have arrived and I just received the shipping confirmation from Alex Shim that the Nuance was shipped Mon. Alex, BJ thanks for the support you guys are first class. Jon has the shirts done and on the way and so far we have received items from the follow sponsors.
Zap
Smart Fly
Jerry Budd Mounts
Jaccio
APC
BJ Craft
F3A Unlimited
Castle
Brenner Contra Drives (50% off)
Hyde Mounts
Gas 4 Less (GAs Cards)
Y/S Parts & Service
As for the Hotel you can still get a low rate if you call the Hampton and ask to speak to Raquel the sales manager. She has been great and I am sure you will be well takin care of over there.
