Hi all,
In preparation for the 2005 season I will be fitting new wheel pants to my models, as they tend to get rather tired after a year's flying from less than perfect grass strips.
I was wondering what wheel pants people considered the best, both in terms of quality and value for money? Also, where do you source them from, as Central do not seem to list any on their website?
Many thanks,
James

Without doubt, Bolly carbon fibre pants are strong. light and the built in recess allows it to locate on the gear leg without another fixture, which lets it rotate in an "arrival".

I just picked up a pair of carbon fiber wheel pants from central hobbies. They are made by es designs and are light, supposedley 66 gr. each. They come in white or yellow. I was hoping to install them without painting or preperation but the seem is very visible.
They can be seen at www.escomposites.com.

ZN copy spats from Flying Star of Italy (they make the full composite Synergy etc). Only weigh 10 grams per spat and the quality is superb. Cost is 32 euro plus postage.

Hi Angus,
thanks for that I think they will be the ones I go for. I had been looking at the Lorenz spats for the High Society, which Phil is selling at about £17 a pair, but for an extra fiver those carbon spats look good. Have you tried them? How did you arder, as the site is exclusively in Italian?
cheers,
James

I have a pair of the Flying Star carbon fiber pants for my Excelleron and the finish is
superb. There is no visible seam and they look good enough they don't need to be
painted. Very nice.
Made in Italy and available at WingsPro in the USA for $39.95 a pair.
