Default Engine mount for Fantasy/ Eclipse ARF....

Hi gents

Here is a picture of the mount for the engine going into my Fantasy. I have several times produced my own copy of a Hyde mount but the tendency to make them heavy has made me try this setup instead. I read somewhere that Mr Mcmurtry is using this mount also, but surely there must be others with experience with this mount. Does the damper hold ? Will the vulcanisation break lose after some time etc etc. ....

The mount is only half the price of a hyde mount over here and the weight including the aluminum backplate of home construction is just 3,53 oz.

I'll post some pictures when I get it lined up in the model, but a little work has to be done to the firewall which is made of 6 mm balsa and some ( too ) thin glass cloth .

regards ...
