Default I'm so confused

OK<I know I want to move up to a bigger pattern plane. I had an Aresti that has a YS 63 in it. I use the past tense terms for a reason. Now I have a chance to pick up a YS 110 or YS 140sport at some really good prices. So I need to decide which one to get and which plane to get to match.

I already know that If I went with the 110 I would go Excelleron or Venus.
But what should I to get if I go to the 140?

I will do mostly sport type flying along with some pattern manuvers. I don't make it to contests so I don't have that concern to deal with. I just want to improve my flying and have a good bird and combination to do it with.

FWIW, I already fly IMAC manuvers with my 28% DA 50 powered planes.

I would go icepoint with the 140 and quest with the 110. both are available from Ultra-rc i think.

Hi Ken,

My view between the two choices you have listed, the 110 will get you more ARF choices where the performance is good, and the cost is lower, but once you move into the bigger size, the lower cost ARF choices is limited, and you are probably have to be more committed in investing both time and capital, so if your goal is to fly around and practice to improve the skills, 110 size should get you more value overall.

I am currently using Excelleron to practice the Advanced sequences, and feel it is very capable to help me improving my flying. I would like to move into a 2 meter plane sometime this year, but that certainly is not because I need to.

Regards,

Kevin

Unfortunatly neither is availble at this time. I admitably am leaning toward the 90 size plane because I am on a somewhat limited budget.

Hey Ken.

Doesn't CG have a plane called the Obsession?? One of our club members has it and you can dial down the throws and it flies pretty well.

I wanted to say you should come over to Lubbock for our Pattern contest in Aug. A lot of fun and close enough you could still stay at home. If you haven't ever competed we would help you through everything you needed. Yes, you could fly your IMAC plane in Sportsman also!

Just a thought.

Hanger 9 Showtime and YS110. The Showtime with throws cut back does a decent job of flying pattern. The vertical tail surfaces are too large and crosswinds require a bit more correction. It is a good flying plane with no bad tendencies. It is well constructed.
