I have a Saito .56 ( 10 years ) and a Saito 270 ( 25 years ) and they are some of the best I have owned. I had a Saito 100 & 125 and had the same problem with both. So I swear by them AND at them
Anyway this is a Venus thread and not a Saito thread so I had better shut my mouth. But I just couldn't contain myself

As an engineer, I love the idea of a 4 stroke. But at this stage, I need an engine that I can go out with day after day and have it running on the first flip, with no maintanence. I found that that 2 stroke O.S. engines fit that bill nicely! Great consistency in quality and run with low, low upkeep. The field I fly at is about 1/2 mile away from work, so I try to squeeze some flying in at lunch. All the other guys that do this fly electics and make fun of me. But I digress....
I've been flying .46 size airplanes up to now (mainly a Koas with a 46AX) using Futabe S3151 digital servos. Are this too marginal for the Venus II? Any recomendations?
Thanks for all the advice,
Jim

Jim those S3151's would be just fine for ailerons and elevator (if using dual elevator servos) with an S3050 for the rudder. Actually, I find that analog servos work quite well in my Venus because of the much smaller control surface throws of a pure pattern plane, as compared to an all-out 3D set-up such as I have on my Fliton Extra Freestyle.

The kit does NOT include a spinner adapter. I have a 120 Surpass in mine and just use reg. fuel line I'm not 100% sure but I think that is enough for the 120 AX.
Go to the Towers or GP website and download the Venus II manual. It will tell you everything you will need in there.

Hi
I used to feel the same way as Jim regarding 4 strokes. Until i bought a plane with a YS 63 and all i can say is apart from the higher running costs it is the most predictable, reliable engine I have ever owned. If it quits in the air it is because it has run out of fuel. The only down side is that unless you are running it on 20% plus nitro you are wasting your time.
I would fit a YS 110 without a seconds thought.

Well, I got back from sunny Florida, where it was 80° and beautiful. Now it's 45° in Boston and raining. Dang...
But! I just opened the box to start working on my V2 and this airplane is BIG! I can see why the 120AX will work so well. So here is today's question: I'm just about to order the engine and should I get the stock muffler? Or is there a better aftermarket jobber?
Thanks again for all the info.
