Default FS 120 III Surpass - False firewall

I'm about to mount the above motor in my pattern ship. I have often seen the use of a "false" bulkhead/firewall where the mounting plate is offset from the firewall allowing one to adjust thrust angles easier. Also, it will allow me to accurately place the position of the motor without hacking the cowl shorter.

My question is this, would one use a metal plate or a 6mm ply for a four stroke. My reasoning is to use a ply false firewall to absorb some of the vibration of the four stroke??

Any comments welcome

Thanks
